D1 Arrive in Hami – Hami City Tour
Arrive in Hami, an important historic city in eastern Xinjiang and a gateway between China and the ancient Silk Road.
You can reach Hami by flight from major Chinese cities such as Beijing, Chengdu or Chongqing, or by high-speed train from Urumqi or Dunhuang, depending on your travel plans.
Upon arrival, meet your local guide and driver and begin a city tour according to your arrival time. Explore the lively Hami Food Streets and sample local specialties, including the famous Hami melon.
Continue to the Palace of the Hami King, an important historical site associated with the former Hami royal family. Your guide will introduce you to the history and culture of Hami and its role as an important stop on the ancient Silk Road.
After sightseeing, transfer to your hotel and enjoy the rest of the evening at leisure.

D2 Hami – Dahaidao Yadan – Balikun
After breakfast, drive toward Dahaidao, a vast and remote desert area famous for its spectacular Yadan landforms.
The landscape is characterized by countless wind-eroded ridges, hills and rock formations scattered across the Gobi Desert. The isolated surroundings and unusual shapes of the Yadan formations have earned the area the nickname “Ghost City.”
Explore this dramatic desert landscape and enjoy the constantly changing shapes and colors of the Yadan formations. The vast open terrain offers excellent opportunities for photography and a strong sense of wilderness.
In the late afternoon, leave the desert and drive approximately 2 hours to Balikun County, located beneath the Tianshan Mountains.

D3 Balikun Grassland – Gaojiahu Wetland – Hami
After breakfast, explore the beautiful Balikun Grassland, one of the scenic highland grasslands beneath the Tianshan Mountains.
Take a leisurely walk across the grassland and enjoy the peaceful pastoral scenery, with cattle and sheep grazing against the backdrop of the mountains. During the warmer months, the grassland is particularly attractive, with green pastures and seasonal wildflowers.
Continue to Gaojiahu Wetland, where grasslands, lakes and agricultural landscapes create a peaceful rural setting. Depending on local conditions and the season, you may also have the opportunity to enjoy a horse-riding experience.
In the late afternoon, drive back to Hami and check in to your hotel.

D4 Hami – Turpan – Jiaohe Ancient City – Karez Well
Take a morning high-speed train from Hami to Turpan, with the journey taking approximately 2 hours depending on the train schedule.
After arrival, begin your Turpan sightseeing with Jiaohe Ancient City, one of the most remarkable archaeological sites along the ancient Silk Road. The city was built on a natural plateau between two river valleys and has a history dating back more than 2,000 years.
Walk through the extensive ruins and imagine the prosperous city that once served as an important political, commercial and cultural center in the Turpan Basin.
Later, visit the Karez Irrigation System, an ingenious underground irrigation network that has been used for centuries to bring water from underground sources to the dry Turpan Basin. Explore the underground channels and learn how this traditional engineering system helped sustain agriculture and settlement in one of China’s driest regions.

D5 Turpan – Tuyugou Valley – Gaochang Ruins – Kashgar
After breakfast, visit Tuyugou Valley, a scenic valley known for its traditional Uyghur villages, vineyards, adobe houses and distinctive local culture.
Take a walk through the village and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere while learning about traditional life in the Turpan region.
Continue to the Gaochang Ruins, the remains of an important ancient city on the Silk Road. Gaochang developed into a major center of trade, culture and religion and played an important role in the history of the Turpan Basin.
Explore the extensive ruins and learn about the different civilizations and religions that once flourished here.
In the evening, take a flight from Turpan to Kashgar, with the flight taking approximately 2 hours depending on the schedule. Upon arrival, your guide and driver will transfer you to your hotel.

D6 Kashgar Old Town & Id Kah Mosque
Start the day early to experience the opening ceremony of Kashgar Old Town, when the historic neighborhood comes alive in the morning.
Then explore the Gaotai Residential Area, one of the most distinctive historic neighborhoods in Kashgar. Built on a natural loess cliff, the area features traditional houses, narrow lanes and layers of residential architecture that reflect the city’s long history and Central Asian cultural influences.
Continue exploring Kashgar Old Town, walking through its lively streets, traditional neighborhoods, workshops and local markets. Take time to discover traditional handicrafts, local food and everyday life in this historic city.
Visit Id Kah Mosque (Aitigar Mosque), one of the most important Islamic landmarks in Kashgar and a prominent symbol of the city’s religious and cultural heritage.
Return to your hotel after the sightseeing.

D7 Kashgar – Livestock Bazaar – Abakh Hoja Tomb – Departure
In the morning, visit the Kashgar Livestock Bazaar, where local farmers and herders gather to trade livestock, including sheep, cattle and horses. The market offers an interesting glimpse into traditional commerce and pastoral life in southern Xinjiang.
Continue to the Abakh Hoja Tomb, also known as the Xiangfei Tomb, a historic Islamic architectural complex associated with the Abakh Hoja family and traditionally connected with the story of Xiangfei, or the “Fragrant Concubine,” of the Qing Dynasty.
After the visit, enjoy some free time in Kashgar before your guide and driver transfer you to the airport for your onward flight in the late afternoon or evening.
