D1 Arrive in Urumqi – Urumqi City Tour
Arrive in Urumqi, the capital of Xinjiang, and meet your local guide and driver at the airport.
Depending on your arrival time, begin your Xinjiang journey with a city tour. Visit Red Hill Park, one of the landmarks of Urumqi, and enjoy views of the city from the hill.
Later, explore the lively International Grand Bazaar, where you can browse colorful handicrafts, textiles, dried fruits, spices and other local products while experiencing the distinctive atmosphere of Xinjiang.
After sightseeing, transfer to your hotel and enjoy a relaxing evening.
Overnight: Urumqi
D2 Urumqi – Burqin – Hemu Village – Jiadengyu
Take a morning flight from Urumqi to Burqin. Upon arrival, meet your guide and driver and continue by private vehicle toward Hemu Village, one of the most picturesque destinations in northern Xinjiang.
Hemu is famous for its traditional wooden houses, peaceful valleys, forests and spectacular mountain scenery. Take a walk through the village and along the Hemu River, and enjoy the distinctive scenery of the surrounding birch forests.
You can also climb to a viewpoint above the village for a panoramic view of the wooden houses scattered among the forested mountains. The scenery changes dramatically with the seasons, with lush greenery in summer and golden foliage in autumn.
In the late afternoon, continue to Jiadengyu, the main gateway to Kanas Scenic Area, and check in to your hotel.

D3 Jiadengyu – Kanas Lake – Burqin – Urumqi
After breakfast, head to Kanas Scenic Area, one of the most spectacular natural destinations in northern Xinjiang.
Visit beautiful Kanas Lake, surrounded by forest-covered mountains and alpine landscapes. Head to the Guanyutai (Viewing Fish Pavilion) for a panoramic view of the lake and surrounding mountains.
You can also enjoy a short walk through the scenic area and along the lakeside, taking in the peaceful forests and clear mountain scenery.
In the afternoon, leave Kanas and drive to Burqin for your return flight to Urumqi.
Upon arrival in Urumqi, transfer to your hotel.

D4 Urumqi – Kuqa – Kizil Thousand-Buddha Caves – Kuqa Grand Canyon
Take a morning flight from Urumqi to Kuqa, an ancient oasis city on the northern edge of the Taklamakan Desert.
Kuqa was historically known as Qiuci, an important kingdom and cultural center along the ancient Silk Road. Its location made it a meeting point for different cultures, religions and artistic traditions.
Begin your sightseeing with the Kizil Thousand-Buddha Caves, one of the most important Buddhist cave complexes in Central Asia. The earliest caves date back to around the 3rd century, making Kizil one of the earliest major Buddhist cave-art sites in China. The surviving murals provide a fascinating glimpse into the religious and artistic traditions of the ancient Silk Road.
Continue to the remains of an ancient beacon tower, an important reminder of the military and communication systems that once operated along the Silk Road.
In the afternoon, drive to Kuqa Grand Canyon, where you can enjoy a short hike through the spectacular red-rock landscape. The canyon features dramatic cliffs, unusual rock formations and rugged scenery on the southern slopes of the Tianshan Mountains.
Return to Kuqa in the late afternoon.

D5 Kuqa – Subashi Ruins – Kuqa Museum – Kashgar
After breakfast, visit the Subashi Buddhist Temple Ruins, the remains of an important ancient Buddhist center near Kuqa. The site flourished during the period of the ancient Qiuci Kingdom and played an important role in the history of Buddhism along the Silk Road.
The famous Chinese monk Xuanzang visited the Qiuci region during his pilgrimage to India in the 7th century, adding an important historical connection to the site.
Return to Kuqa around noon.
In the afternoon, visit the Palace of the Kuqa King, a reconstructed complex inspired by the former royal residence of the Kuqa rulers. Then continue to Kuqa Museum, where you can learn more about the ancient Qiuci Kingdom, Silk Road trade and the region’s diverse cultural heritage.
In the late afternoon, take a flight from Kuqa to Kashgar. Upon arrival, your guide and driver will transfer you to your hotel.

D6 Kashgar Old Town & Aitigar Mosque
Start the day early to experience the opening ceremony of Kashgar Old Town, when the streets come alive with local music and traditional performances.
Then explore Gaotai Residential Area, one of the historic neighborhoods of Kashgar Old Town. Built on a natural loess terrace, the neighborhood is characterized by closely packed traditional houses, narrow lanes and a distinctive Central Asian architectural atmosphere.
Kashgar has long been an important crossroads between China and Central Asia, and walking through its old neighborhoods offers an excellent opportunity to experience the city’s rich cultural heritage.
Continue exploring Kashgar Old Town, walking through its traditional streets and lively markets. Take time to discover local handicrafts, food and everyday life.
Visit Id Kah Mosque (Aitigar Mosque), one of the most important Islamic landmarks in Kashgar and a prominent example of traditional Islamic architecture in Xinjiang.
Return to your hotel after the sightseeing.

D7 Kashgar – Livestock Bazaar – Abakh Hoja Tomb – Departure
In the morning, visit the Kashgar Livestock Bazaar, where local farmers and herders gather to trade livestock such as sheep, cattle and horses. The market provides a fascinating glimpse into traditional life and commerce in southern Xinjiang.
Continue to the Abakh Hoja Tomb, also known as the Xiangfei Tomb, a historic Islamic architectural complex associated with the Abakh Hoja family. The site is traditionally linked with the famous “Fragrant Concubine,” or Xiangfei, a figure associated with the Qing Dynasty.
After the sightseeing, enjoy some free time in Kashgar before your guide and driver transfer you to the airport for your onward flight in the late afternoon or evening.
