D1. Urumqi City Tour
Arrive in Urumqi today, and make some city tours accordingly, such as the Red Hill Park, International B azaar.
D2. Urmqi / Tianshan / Kuitun 359KM, 4hrs driving
Pick up you at hotel in the morning, and then head to Tianchi Lake, or the Heaven Lake, in about one hour’ driving. Enjoy the beautiful green gem-like lake, if sky is clear enough, you can also watch the snow peaks in far.
In the afternoon you will continue to Kuitun city. Night in Kuitun.
D3. Kuitun / Nalati National Park 228 Kms 5hrs Driving
Today you will drive through the famous Duku highway from Dushanzi of Kuitun to Nanati town. Start from the Dushanzi Grand Gorge, enjoy the wonders of zigzagging mountain road , the changing of seasons in one day. Arrive in Nalati town in the late afternoon.
D4. Nalati / Kuqa 355KM Driving 7 hrs
Continue your expedition of Duku highway today. You will pass by Bayinbuluke nature reserve. And arrive in Kuche in the late afternoon.
D5 Kuqa City Tour
In the morning you will visit the Kuqa King Palace, which is the palace used to live by Kuqa king. And then you will head to Kizil Thousand Buddha Cave, which will tell you the former prosperity of Buddhism in this ancient Silk Road. And then you will explore the grand Kuqa Gorge GEO Park, in which you can enjoy the beautiful landscape of Danxia.
D6 Kuqa / Tarim Basin Poplar Forest / Korla 350KM, 6 hrs’ driving
In the morning you will head to Tarim Poplar Forest in Luntai county, where you can enjoy the various shaped diversifolious poplar tree in the Taklimakan desert, also enjoy the wonder of desert en route. Arrive in Korla city in the late afternoon.
D7 Korla / Turpan 377KM, 5 hrs’ driving
Driving to Turpan all the day, enjoy the desert landscape en route. And drop a tour in the ruin of Jiaohe ancient town, which is the largest and most well reserved earth town, and it will tell you the old history of Silk road from 2300 years ago.
D8 Turpan / Urumqi 198KM, 2 hours’ driving
