D 1. Arrive at Kashgar
Fly to Kashgar from Beijing, Chengdu or other city directly. Meet with your guide and transfer to hotel. In the afternoon or evening, you can make some city tours in Kashgar accordingly.
D2. Kashgar Tour
Your Kashgar tours start from the Abak Hoja Tomb, also named as Fragrant Concubine Tomb, which will tell you the unique history and culture of Uygur people.
And then in the afternoon you will back to the city to visit the Cow and Goat Bazaar, which is the largest livestock trade market in Xinjiang. It would be an interesting experience to see their trade.
In the afternoon you will back to the old town of Kashgar, where you will visit the ground of Heytgah Mosque, enjoy its beautiful architecture outside. And then you will free to explore the prosperous and crowded old town of Kashgar. You will visit their old alleys, magnificent handcraft shops, etc, also delicious Muslim food.
D3 Kashgar / Tashkurgan 290KM, 5.5hrs’ driving
In the morning you will head to Pamirs plateau, which is just between China and Pakistan border. It is a long driving day of 5 hours. You will pass by Baisha lake, which will show you the beautiful view of white sand desert and lake.
And you will enjoy the Mustag peak and Kalakuli lake on the road.
Arrive inTashkurgan county in the late afternoon. Wall around in the beautiful plateau city, experience the folklore of Tajik people.
D4 Tashkurgan / Kashgar
Visit the plateau of grassland and mountain in the morning. Head back Kashgar in the afternoon.
D5 Kashgar / Hetan 500km, 5.5 hrs’ driving Driving 5 hrs
Today you will head to Hetan area, which is the remote residency of Urgur people in South Xinjiang. And you will enjoy the landscape of Taklimakan desert en route. Arrive in Hetan in the late afternoon, and walk around the United Ground to stretch your legs. If time allowed, you can visit the Hetan Museum firstly here.
D6 Hetan / Minfeng / Qiemo 583Km, 6hrs’ driving
Continue the overland tours along the south edge of Taklimakan desert today. You will pass by Minfeng city and arrive at Qiemo county, enjoy the landscape of desert, also may visit some villages en route. And if time allowed, you can visit Niya Museum, where you can see the Mummy thousand years ago.
D7 Qiemo / Tazhong 216KM, 3 hrs driving
Desert, always desert. Today you will travel cross the heartland of Taklimakan desert. And enjoy the desert and Poplar trees en route. Night in the small town of Tazong.
D8 Tazhong / Luntai 331KM, 5 hrs driving
Continue the desert-driving-through expedition today. And arrive in Tuntai in the late afternoon. Also drop a tour in the Tarim Basin Poplar Forest Park to enjoy the diversilolous poplar trees.
D9 Luntai / Turpan 555KM, 7hrs driving
Driving to Turpan all the day, enjoy the desert landscape en route. And drop a tour in the ruin of Jiaohe ancient town, which is the largest and most well reserved earth town, and it will tell you the old history of Silk road from 2300 years ago.
D10 Turpan / Urumqi 198KM, 2 hours’ driving
