D2 Urumqi – Gurbantünggüt Desert – Fuyun

Leave Urumqi in the morning and drive north toward Fuyun County.

Spend the day exploring the village and surrounding mountain scenery. Walk among the traditional wooden houses and enjoy views of the Hemu River and surrounding silver birch forests.
Take a short hike or walk to a hillside viewpoint for a panoramic view of Hemu Village. The combination of wooden houses, forested mountains, and the river creates a beautiful alpine landscape.
In the late afternoon, continue to Jiadengyu.

D5 Jiadengyu – Kanas – Burqin

In the morning, head to Kanas Scenic Area, one of the most famous natural attractions in northern Xinjiang.
Visit beautiful Kanas Lake, surrounded by forested mountains and alpine scenery. Climb to the Fish Viewing Pavilion for a panoramic view of the lake and surrounding mountains.
You can also take a leisurely walk along part of the lakeshore and explore the surrounding silver birch forests.
In the late afternoon, return to Burqin.

Continue your journey through northern Xinjiang toward Dushanzi, a district of Kuitun.

Today, begin your journey along the spectacular Duku Highway, traveling from Dushanzi toward Nalati through the Tianshan Mountains.
