Every spring, Yunnan transforms into a golden paradise as vast fields of canola flowers (rapeseed flowers) bloom across the countryside. From February to March, visitors can enjoy breathtaking landscapes, traditional ethnic culture, and outdoor activities at some of the best canola flower destinations in the province.
Among them, Luoping County in Qujing and Tanglangchuan Valley near Kunming are two of the most popular places to experience the beauty of Yunnan’s spring flower fields.
1. Luoping Canola Flowers Festival

Location: Luoping County, Qujing City, Yunnan Province
Distance from Kunming: Approximately 230 km
The Luoping Canola Flowers Festival is one of the most famous spring flower events in China. Every year from February to March, thousands of hectares of golden canola flowers bloom across the countryside, creating a spectacular landscape surrounded by rolling karst hills.
The combination of endless yellow flower fields, unique karst formations, and rural scenery has made Luoping known as one of the most beautiful natural flower gardens in China.
During the festival, visitors can enjoy a variety of activities, including:

2. Golden Tanglangchuan – Canola Flowers Near Kunming

Location: Tanglangchuan Area, Anning City
Distance from Kunming: Approximately 30 km
For travelers who prefer a shorter trip from Kunming, the Tanglangchuan River area in Anning is an excellent choice for enjoying spring flowers.
Located near Muyang Lake, about 4 km from Wenquan Town of Anning, this area is famous for its seasonal flower landscapes. In spring, large fields of golden canola flowers cover the valley, while sunflowers bloom here during summer.
Because of its beautiful flower scenery, the area is often called “Golden Tanglangchuan.” It is a relaxing destination for photography, cycling, and enjoying the peaceful countryside near Kunming.
