Your Chengdu tour begins in the early morning. Your guide from China Exploration will pick you up from your hotel and drive to the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, located about 10 kilometers north of downtown Chengdu.
The Giant Panda Base is one of the best places in China to observe these adorable creatures in a natural and well-protected environment. Here, you will have the chance to watch giant pandas leisurely eating bamboo, climbing trees, and playing with each other, while capturing memorable photos of their charming behaviors. Walking through the peaceful bamboo forests and spacious gardens is also a relaxing experience.
For those who wish to get closer to pandas, there is an opportunity to take a photo with a panda by making a donation to support panda conservation programs (subject to availability and the regulations of the panda base).
A typical Chinese lunch will be arranged today, allowing you to taste local flavors during your Chengdu journey.
After visiting the Panda Base, continue your tour to the Sanxingdui Museum, home to one of the most mysterious archaeological discoveries in China. Dating back more than 3,000 years, the ancient Sanxingdui civilization represents a unique culture that flourished in the upper Yangtze River region.
Upon arrival, you will explore the museum’s impressive exhibition halls, where thousands of precious artifacts are displayed, including extraordinary bronze masks, bronze vessels, jade objects, gold ornaments, pottery, and bone artifacts unearthed from the Sanxingdui Ruins. The visit provides a fascinating insight into the remarkable achievements and cultural development of this ancient civilization.
