Longsheng Rice Terraces
The Longsheng Rice Terraces, also known as the Longji Rice Terraces (Dragon’s Backbone Rice Terraces), are one of the most spectacular natural and cultural landscapes in Guangxi, China. Located in Longsheng County, approximately 100 kilometers from Guilin, these magnificent terraces attract travelers from around the world with their unique scenery, traditional farming culture, and stunning seasonal views.

The name “Longji” (Dragon’s Backbone) comes from the unique appearance of the landscape. The terraces resemble the scales of a dragon, while the mountain ridges look like the backbone of a giant dragon stretching across the hills.
This extraordinary combination of natural scenery and human creativity has made the Longji Rice Terraces one of the most iconic attractions in Guilin and Guangxi.
Traditional Farming Experience at Longsheng
One of the best times to experience the local farming culture is in early June, when water is introduced into the rice paddies and young rice seedlings are transplanted into the main terraces. During this period, visitors can witness traditional agricultural practices that have been preserved for generations.
