Bamboo Rafting on Yulong River in Yangshuo
Located about 6 kilometers southwest of Yangshuo, the Yulong River is the largest tributary of the Li River and one of the most beautiful scenic areas in Guilin. Known as the “Little Li River,” Yulong River offers a quieter and more intimate experience of China’s famous karst landscape, with peaceful waterways, traditional villages, green rice fields, and dramatic limestone mountains.
The river stretches approximately 16 kilometers, beginning near Jinlong Bridge and Yulong Bridge and flowing to Gongnong Bridge, where it joins the Li River. The breathtaking scenery along the river makes Yulong River one of the most popular attractions in Yangshuo and Guilin.
Yulong River Bamboo Rafting Experience
One of the best ways to explore Yulong River is by taking a traditional bamboo rafting trip. The route from Jinlong Bridge or Yulong Bridge to Gongnong Bridge is considered the highlight of a Yangshuo leisure tour.
A complete bamboo rafting journey usually takes around 4 hours, but shorter routes of 1 or 2 hours are also available, allowing visitors to choose according to their travel plans.
