The Old Town of Lijiang is full of cobbled streets, crisscrossing canals, swaying willow trees and gaily-hubed blossoms. Every so often, a bridge-stone, wooden, flat, arched, roofed-pops up and along it trundles local folk in traditional dress.
This ancient town has a history could date back to1,000 years ago and was once a confluence for trade along the "Old Tea Horse Caravan Trail". This town is famous for its orderly system of waterways and old bridges, a system fast becoming but a memory as the underground water table drops, probably due to over-building in the suburban areas.Although the town grew from humble nomadic origins, there’s little that’s transitory or mercurial about Lijiang. a few houses, streets monasteries and bridges have been there since the Tang, Song, Ming and Qing dynasties. At the heart of the Old Town is Square Street. Centuries ago, it was the central bazaar where mountain tribes, Tibetan and Han traders and farmers briskly bartered yak butter, poultry, grain and linen. Today, this ancient crossroads for trade continues to hum with mercantile activities; business is open every day. On sale are a variety of handicrafts, from homemade griddlecakes to handpicked tea leaves from Yunnan’s hills.

Nakhi culture is a kind of precious Splendid culture in China,it's stubbornly patriarchal, but the Chinese government has linked this culture with the nearby matriarchal Muoso culture because of similarities in their two languages.
In the past,The Muoso music could present Lijiang ,You can hear it from coffee houses and bars, but over the recent years the local musicians have been replaced with Han musicians.
The center of the Dayan Town is called "Square Street"-business center which serves as a hub of communication to Sichuan Tibet and other parts of Yunnan. In addition, Sifang Street is famous for it's snacks and little shops. Five major streets connect all the roads and lanes. Streets which run beside the streams are all paved with colorful cobbles. After rain, they look shining and neat.
Naxi women are so beautiful.they always wearing blue pleated skirts and sheepskin shawls decorated with seven stars and seven ribbons, add a lingering charm to the ancient town. Most of the residents of the Dayan Town are Naxi people. Their houses are traditional buildings with carved beams and painted rafters. The hereditary ) of the Naxi minority all come from the Mu family.
