Xiao Xitian Temple
Xiao Xitian, means minor West Heaven, is located on Fenghuang
Mountain, west of Xi County, Linfen City, Shanxi Province. It was built in Ming Dynasty (1629 AD) and has a history of more than 300 years. Is a national cultural relics. Xiao Xitian temple is famous in the world because of the rare domestic and foreign suspension plastic as well as the background in the hot computer Game: Black Myth: Wukong.
Xiao Xitian temple was built by monk Dongming, who was monk from Wutai shan mountian. When he traveled to Xi County, he saw the earth mountain in the northwest of the county shaped as a phoenix, and the mountain was covered by dense trees, very suitable for building a temple, so he decided to build a Zen temple here. After that, monk Dongming started to beg money for building temple. Ten years later, he finally built the beautiful and magnificent Xiao Xitian temple group.
Xiao Xitian temple stands on the top of the Phoenix Mountain, surrounded by the cutting and abrupt earth cliffs. When you ascend the top of the mountain, then you will see the only pass of 226 stages straight up to the gate of Xiao Xitian temple. Xiao Xitian temple covers an area of more than 1100 square meters, in its extremely limited space, there are 20 buildings of different sizes which are scattered on north and south symmetrically, and the hole is the door connecting the upper courtyard and the lower courtyard. The characteristics of Xiao Xitian temple can be summarized in four words: small, exquisite, excellent and strange.
