Yueyang Junshan Island was once called Xiangshan, Dongtingshan in ancient times. It covers an area of about 0.96 square kilometers, facing famous Yueyang Tower far away. Being seated in eastern Dongting Lake, Junshan consists of 72 mountains in total. Tao Book lists Junshan as the eleventh blessed place. In 2007, Junshan successfully became an AAAAA rated scenic spot.

Junshan possesses abundant cultural deposits and long history. Over 4000 years ago, it has already becomes well-known. Scholars of differen t epochs write poems and articles focusing on its features.

The humanistic background of Junshan is extensive and profound. The first temple of regions located in the south of Yangtze River–Xiangfei ancestral temple, Fengshan imprint of the First Emperor of Qin, Inscriptions carved stone and so on are scattered here.

At all seasons, Junshan has different beautiful natural landscape. In spring, visitors can enjoy particular flowers. In summer, white silver plate can be seen. In autumn, viewing colorful leaves in woods is a good choice. In winter, migratory birds in Dongting Lake will bring people to experience 

another kind of beauty.
