The People's Great Hall of Chongqing
The people's Great Hall of Chongqing, also called Chongqing people's auditorium, 
is located in No.173, Renmin road, Yuzhong district Chongqing. It started to built in June 1951, and completed in April 1954. Chongqing Great Hall is an antique ethnic buildings as Chongqing Top Ten cultural symbols. It is the traditional Chinese palace architectural style and western architecture large span structure clever masterpiece, Chongqing Great Hall is also one of the symbol of Chongqing building.
Chongqing People's Great Hall is composed of four parts: auditorium and east, south and north building. It covers a total area of 66,000 square meters, of which the auditorium covers an area of 18,500 square meters. The auditorium building is 65 meters high, the clearance height of the hall is 55 meters, and the inner diameter is 46.33 meters. The rotunda is surrounded by a four-story tower, which can accommodate more than 3,400 people.
In 1987, in the History of Comparative Architecture published by the Royal Architectural Society of Britain, a total of 42 projects recorded contemporary architecture in the history of world architecture for the first time, and Chongqing People's Auditorium ranked second. In May 2013, it was listed in the "seventh group of National Key Cultural relics Protection Units" by The State Council. In September 2016, Chongqing People's Auditorium was selected into the list of "the first group of China's 20th Century Architectural Heritage".
