Jiefangbei Monument and Street
The full name of Chongqing Jiefangbei Monument is the Victory of the Anti-Japanese 
War and the people's Liberation monument, located in the center of Jiefangbei pedestrian street of Yuzhong District, Chongqing. It was started to built on October 31st,1946, completed in August 1947. Jiefangbei Monunment is the spiritual symbol of the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, also the only one memorial to commemorate the victory of the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression in China.
The front of the Jiefangbei monument faces the north and the east as a eight columns of the helmet reinforced concrete structure. The monument is 27.5 meters high, 2.55 meters long. And the monument is connected underground with eight layers, with a ladder to the top, and on the top is the bell. Around the monument is the flower bed, and a total area of 62 square meters, protection area of 642 square meters. It is a symbol of the victory of the Chinese people's anti-fascist war, and also a symbol of the liberation of Chongqing and Chongqing people.
On May 18,2016, Jiefangbei was selected as one of the Top Ten cultural symbols of Chongqing. In September 2016, it was selected into the "first group of China's 20th Century architectural heritage" list.
