Day 1 Kunming – Jiuxiang Karst Cave – Stone Forest – Kunming (Lunch)
In the morning, your private tour guide will meet you at your hotel in Kunming and begin your day trip to two of Yunnan’s most famous natural attractions.
Drive approximately 90 km from Kunming to Yiliang County, where you will visit Jiuxiang Karst Cave. Jiuxiang is renowned for its extensive network of underground caves, dramatic rock formations, underground rivers, and spectacular karst landscapes. Take an elevator down into the scenic area and explore the fascinating underground world, including impressive caverns, stalactites, and natural rock formations. After your visit, take the cable car back up and enjoy views of the surrounding karst landscape.
After lunch, continue by vehicle to the Stone Forest (Shilin), a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most remarkable karst landscapes in China. The vast scenic area is filled with towering limestone formations in a variety of unusual shapes, creating a spectacular natural “stone forest.” Follow the walking trails through the maze of stone peaks and discover some of the most distinctive formations in the park.
The Stone Forest is also home to the Sani people, a branch of the Yi ethnic group. During your visit, you can learn more about their traditional culture, customs, costumes, and local way of life.
In the late afternoon, drive back to Kunming. Your guide will transfer you to your hotel, bringing your Kunming day tour to an end.
