Day 1 Kunming – Stone Forest – Dongchuan (Lunch, Dinner)
In the morning, your private guide and driver will meet you at your hotel in Kunming and begin your journey to the Stone Forest (Shilin).
Explore this remarkable karst landscape, where countless towering limestone formations rise from the ground in a fascinating variety of shapes. Follow the walking trails through the stone peaks and discover why the Stone Forest has long been celebrated as one of China’s great natural wonders.
The Stone Forest is also home to the Sani people, a branch of the Yi ethnic group. Visit a traditional Sani village near Stone Forest Lake to experience their distinctive culture, including traditional architecture, colorful folk songs and dances, and local customs.
After sightseeing, continue by vehicle to Dongchuan and check in to your local hotel.
Overnight in Dongchuan.
Day 2 Explore Dongchuan Red Land (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Today is dedicated to exploring the spectacular Dongchuan Red Land, one of Yunnan’s most distinctive agricultural landscapes and a favorite destination for landscape photographers.
The area is famous for its intensely colored red earth, created by the region’s distinctive soil and natural environment. From the surrounding hills and viewpoints, colorful fields stretch across the rolling landscape, creating a natural patchwork of red, green, yellow, and other seasonal colors.
Travel through the countryside and visit several scenic viewpoints to appreciate the changing colors and patterns of the farmland. Depending on the season and weather, the landscape can look dramatically different, making Dongchuan an especially rewarding destination for photography and nature lovers.
Overnight in Dongchuan.
Day 3 Dongchuan – Kunming (Breakfast, Lunch)
After breakfast, enjoy a final morning in Dongchuan and take in the surrounding countryside.
After lunch, drive back to Kunming. Upon arrival, your guide and driver will transfer you to your hotel or another location in the city.
Your 3-day Dongchuan Red Land and Stone Forest tour ends with wonderful memories of Yunnan’s spectacular karst and colorful rural landscapes.
