In the morning, drive approximately 230 km east from Kunming to Luoping County, a spectacular destination in eastern Yunnan known for its vast fields of golden canola (rapeseed) flowers and distinctive karst scenery.
During the flowering season, generally from February to March, the countryside around Luoping is transformed into a sea of yellow. Vast fields of canola flowers spread across the valleys and foothills, contrasting beautifully with the surrounding limestone peaks and green farmland.
Explore the scenic countryside and visit Shiwandashan (Hundred Thousand Hills), an area of rolling hills and distinctive landscapes that provides numerous opportunities for landscape photography. From the viewpoints, enjoy panoramic views over the colorful fields, villages, and karst mountains.
In the late afternoon, return to your hotel in Luoping.

Day 3 Luoping – Golden Rooster Peak – Jiulong Waterfall (Breakfast, Lunch)
Rise early today to watch the sunrise over Golden Rooster Peak (Jinjifeng), one of Luoping’s most famous viewpoints. In the early morning light, the surrounding fields and karst hills gradually emerge from the mist, creating a spectacular panorama of golden farmland and isolated limestone peaks.
Continue to Lingyi Temple, located near the scenic area, before having breakfast.
Afterward, drive to Jiulong Waterfall, also known as the Nine Dragon Waterfalls. The scenic area features a series of cascading waterfalls surrounded by green mountains and forests.
Take a cable car or hike to the viewing areas, where you can enjoy panoramic views of the valley and waterfalls. Continue along the walking trails to explore the waterfalls at closer range, including the main waterfall, which is approximately 56 meters high and 112 meters wide.
After sightseeing, return to Luoping.

Day 4 Luoping – Stone Forest – Kunming (Breakfast, Lunch)
After breakfast, leave Luoping and travel toward Kunming, with a stop at the famous Stone Forest (Shilin).
After lunch, spend approximately 2–3 hours exploring this spectacular karst landscape. The Stone Forest is characterized by enormous limestone pillars, peaks, rocks, and narrow passages formed over millions of years of geological activity.
The Stone Forest forms part of the South China Karst, a UNESCO World Heritage Site inscribed in 2007. Its distinctive sword-shaped and tower-shaped limestone formations create a maze-like landscape that is one of the most recognizable natural attractions in Yunnan.
Follow the walking trails through the scenic area and discover different formations and viewpoints. Despite its popularity, the large size of the scenic area means that quieter corners can still be found, particularly outside the busiest travel periods.
In the late afternoon, drive back to Kunming and transfer to your hotel.
