Jiaozi Snow Mountain Hiking
Yunnan is home to many spectacular snow-capped mountains, including Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, Haba Snow Mountain, and Meili Snow Mountain. Jiaozi Snow Mountain is the closest major snow mountain to Kunming and offers an excellent option for travelers who want to extend their trip with a mountain hiking experience.
Located in Luquan Yi and Miao Autonomous County, Jiaozi Snow Mountain reaches a maximum elevation of approximately 4,247 meters. It is known as the “First Mountain in Central Yunnan” and features dramatically changing landscapes throughout the year.
The mountain takes on different colors with the seasons: lush green in spring, deep blue and vibrant alpine scenery in summer, golden landscapes in autumn, and snow-covered scenery in winter.
For hiking enthusiasts, a 2-day Jiaozi Snow Mountain hiking extension can be arranged. The trek offers an opportunity to explore alpine forests, meadows, mountain lakes, and high-altitude landscapes while experiencing one of Yunnan’s lesser-known mountain destinations.
