Erhai Lake, known as Yeyu Lake in ancient times, is situated to the east of Dali. A plateau lake, it is 42 kilometers long and 3.5-7.5 kilometers wide. It is 150 kilometers in circumference and covers an area of 252 square kilometers. The deepest spot is 21 meters. In spring, the water twinkles in the sunlight. In summer, the lake is surrounded by green-trees, the branches of which stretch over the water. In autumn, the lake is tranquil and charming. In winter, the twinkling water and the snow-covered Cangshan Mountains form a charming contrast. In this scenic area, there are three islets, four islands, five lakes, nine streams, eight special views and four pavilions.

Your private guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel in the morning and begin your Dali sightseeing tour with a visit to Erhai Lake. Enjoy a relaxing cruise on the lake, one of the highlights of any visit to Dali. Admire the clear waters of Erhai Lake with the majestic Cangshan Mountains rising in the distance. The beautiful combination of the lake and mountains is traditionally known as “Silver Cangshan and Jade Erhai.”
Continue to Butterfly Spring, a peaceful scenic spot surrounded by lush vegetation. The area is famous for its natural setting and the colorful butterflies that gather around the spring and surrounding flowers, creating a delightful scene during the appropriate season.
After lunch, explore Dali Ancient Town, where you can walk along the historic city wall and discover traditional Bai-style houses, courtyards and old streets. The town offers a wonderful opportunity to experience the distinctive architecture and cultural heritage of the Bai people.
Next, visit the Three Pagodas of Chongsheng Temple, one of Dali’s most iconic landmarks. Dating back more than 1,000 years, the three elegant pagodas are an important symbol of Dali’s history and Buddhist heritage. Set against the backdrop of the Cangshan Mountains, they also provide excellent opportunities for photography.
After the sightseeing tour, your driver will transfer you back to your hotel.
