D1 Chengdu – Luding – Kangding
Meals: Lunch, Dinner | Drive: approximately 380 km / 7 hours
Your journey from Chengdu to the Tibetan Plateau begins early this morning. Your private guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel and drive approximately 380 km to Kangding, with a total driving time of around seven hours.
The journey takes you from the relatively flat Chengdu Plain into the dramatic mountains of western Sichuan. Part of the route follows the expressway, while the remainder follows the scenic China National Highway 318.
Along the way, you will cross Mt. Erlangshan, which historically served as an important gateway between the Sichuan Basin and the Tibetan areas of western Sichuan. Today, the Erlangshan Tunnel makes the journey much easier and allows you to pass through the mountain in a short time.
Continue along the beautiful Dadu River toward Luding.
In the afternoon, visit historic Luding Bridge, a famous suspension bridge spanning the Dadu River. The bridge played an important role during the Long March period and has become one of the best-known historical landmarks along this section of the Sichuan-Tibet route.
After visiting Luding Bridge, continue driving along the Dadu River toward Kangding.
Arrive in Kangding in the late afternoon. At an altitude of approximately 2,560 meters, Kangding provides a relatively gentle introduction to the higher-altitude areas you will visit during the following days.
After checking into your hotel, enjoy a relaxing walk around this beautiful mountain town and experience its distinctive Tibetan cultural atmosphere.
Overnight: Kangding
D2 Kangding – Xinduqiao – Tagong – Danba
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner | Drive: approximately 6–7 hours
Today your journey enters the spectacular landscapes of the Tibetan Plateau.
Begin with a visit to a local Tibetan Buddhist temple in Kangding, where your guide will introduce you to Tibetan Buddhism, religious traditions, and local culture.
You will then cross Zheduo Mountain Pass, at an altitude of approximately 4,200 meters, and enter the vast highland landscapes of western Sichuan.
The scenery changes dramatically as the mountains open into wide valleys and grasslands. Deep blue skies, rolling hills, grazing yaks, Tibetan villages, and distant snow peaks create a completely different landscape from the Chengdu Plain.
Continue to Xinduqiao, a famous destination often known for its beautiful photographic scenery. Traditional Tibetan houses, wooden bridges, white poplar trees, streams, grasslands, and surrounding mountains combine to create a harmonious highland landscape.
Continue to Tagong, a traditional Tibetan town located approximately 30 km from Xinduqiao. The surrounding Tagong Grassland, Tagong Monastery, and distant views of Mt. Yala provide some of the most characteristic scenery of the western Sichuan Plateau.
If local conditions permit, you can also experience a short horseback ride on the grassland.
The journey continues through the spectacular landscapes around Bamei, where unusual rock formations and alpine valleys provide excellent opportunities for photography.
You will also visit Huiyuan Monastery, a historic Tibetan Buddhist monastery with an important connection to Tibetan religious history.
Continue to Danba in the late afternoon. Upon arrival, travel directly to Jiaju Tibetan Village, where you will stay in a local Tibetan family guesthouse and enjoy a traditional Tibetan-style dinner.
Overnight: Jiaju Tibetan Village
D3 Danba – Rilong
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner | Drive: approximately 2 hours
Wake up early to enjoy the fresh mountain air and the peaceful atmosphere of Jiaju Tibetan Village.
Danba is famous for its distinctive Tibetan villages and traditional stone houses. Local homes are often built in beautiful mountain settings and decorated with traditional architectural features, creating a striking contrast with the surrounding mountains, farmland, and forests.
After breakfast, visit the best viewpoints of Jiaju Tibetan Village to enjoy panoramic views of the traditional houses and surrounding valleys.
Continue to Suopo Village, famous for its ancient Tibetan watchtowers.
These tall stone towers were historically used for defense and communication between villages. Their impressive height, unusual shape, and carefully constructed stone walls are among the most distinctive features of Danba’s traditional architecture.
After exploring the village, continue toward Rilong, the gateway to Mount Siguniang (Four Girls Mountain).
The approximately two-hour drive takes you through Xiaojin and Dawei, with beautiful mountain scenery and rivers accompanying the journey.
Arrive in Rilong Town in the late afternoon and check into your hotel.

D4 Rilong – Mount Siguniang – Wolong – Chengdu
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Today you will explore the spectacular scenery around Mount Siguniang, also known as the Four Girls Mountain.
The mountain is named after its four main snow-covered peaks, which rise dramatically above the surrounding landscape. The highest peak reaches approximately 6,250 meters, making the area an important destination for mountaineering and trekking.
You will not need to undertake a difficult mountaineering expedition. Instead, you will visit Changping Valley, one of the most scenic areas at the foot of Mount Siguniang.
Enjoy views of the four magnificent peaks and take a moderate walk through the alpine forests and mountain trails. You can adjust the length of the walk according to your physical condition and simply turn back whenever you feel tired.
After the mountain excursion, begin your journey back to Chengdu.
Depending on road and weather conditions, your driver may travel via Mt. Jiajinshan or Mt. Balangshan. If conditions permit, the Balangshan route offers spectacular views of high mountain passes, cloud seas, and distant snow peaks.
As the road descends from the plateau toward the Chengdu Plain, the landscape gradually changes from alpine mountains to forested valleys and lower-elevation countryside.
Arrive in Chengdu in the late afternoon and conclude your 4-day Kangding, Xinduqiao, Danba and Mount Siguniang tour.
End of the tour.
