Sand lake located in Pingluo County, 56 Kilometers north of Yinchuan City and 20 Kilometers from Shizuishan City, Sand Lake’s surface covers 85.10 square kilometers area. Including 62.16 square kilomerts of land and 20.2 square kilometers of water. The average depth of the lake is 2.2 meters; itsdeepest point is 4 meters. Moving dunes cover 12.74 squares kilometers. In 2007 The China Tourism Administration designated Sand Lake a 5A Scenic Spot. The combination of water and sand makes Sand Lake a uniquely beautiful spot. It is also rich in natural resources, including sand dunes, reeds, birds, fish, and lotuses.
Occupying an area of some 50 km2 , the Western Xia Tombs at the foot of the Helan Mountains in Ningxia . Nine imperial mausoleums and 250 tombs of imperial relatives and officials are included . This place lies some 40 km westward from capital city of the Western Xia Regime . The Xingqing Fu(兴庆府) or Xingqing, what is modern-day Yinchuan, capital of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.
Shapotou is located in the southeastern margin of the Tengger Desert in the western part of Zhongwei City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. About 38 km long, 5 km wide, 1300 to 1500 meters above sea level, with a total area of 4599.3 hectares, accounting for 3% of the total land area of Zhongwei City. It is one of the 20 key areas for sand control in the country. Shapotou includes desert, the Yellow River, mountains and oasis, with the magnificent scenery of the Northwest . There is China's largest natural sloping field . "the world's first cable" across the Yellow River .
Zhongwei Gao Temple is located in Zhongwei County North. Built in the contiguous city walls of the high platform. According to record, it was built in the Ming Yongle years (1403-1424 years), after many times of reconstruction , to the Qing Dynasty it has become a large-scale ancient buildings, showing the style of ancient buildings in Ningxia.

Day1 Yinchuan/Mosque (lunch)
Your Ningxia tour starts from Yinchuan today, the guide from China Exploration will meet you at airport, after that you will head for Mosque, where you will know something about the Muslim. Then your guide will send you to your hotel to have a rest for the long trip of the next day .
Day2 Yinchuan/Shahu Lake/Yinchuan 1 hours’ driving, 59.1km (breakfast/lunch)
Your Yinchuan tour today starts in the early morning, the guide from China Exploration will pick up you at your hotel, and then head for the Sand Lake in the Luoping County, about 54kms northwest to Yinchuan, where you can see millions of birds, like swans, sea-gulls, white cranes and so on. Then you can visit the lotus garden, which covers ten thousand MU, the Nile river here where you will enjoy the pyramid and the Sphinx by some sand sculptors and the silk road where you can view the landform of desert. It’s is a wonderful place that you can take many beautiful photos.
In the late afternoon, you will drive back to the hotel in Yinchuan.
Day3 Yinchuan/ Western Xia Tomb / Studio City 40 minutes’ driving.21km (breakfast/lunch)
In the early morning, you will drive to Western Xia Tombs about 2 hours on the express way. The wide spreading landscape of Yinchuan Plain will not make the tour boring.
After arrival, your tour guide will show you one of the largest-scale and the most complete emperor tomb in China – the Western Xia Tomb, which is called “the mystery of miracle” and “the Eastern Pyramid”. The Western Xia Tomb is the site you can know depth the culture of Western Xia and explore the history. It is influenced by the culture of Buddhist, Han Nationality and tribal system, which develops a special architecture. The most famous are the cemeteries of Yulin, Tailing, and Jialing.
