Among the many Confucius temples in China, the Nanjing Confucius Temple, also known as Fuzi Miao (Fuzi Temple), is undoubtedly one of the most famous and culturally significant. Located in the heart of Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, this historic site has been a center of Confucian culture, education, and local life for centuries.
A Confucius Temple is a traditional Chinese temple dedicated to Confucius (551–479 BCE), the great philosopher, educator, and founder of Confucianism during the Spring and Autumn Period. As one of the Four Most Famous Confucius Temples in China, Nanjing Confucius Temple represents the important role of Confucian thought in Chinese history and society.
