The Duliu River or Duliujiang is located in the Southeast Guizhou,China and is one of the great rivers in Guizhou.It belongs to the Pearl River system and is situated at 107°34′-109°35′E and 25°19′-26°29′N.The length of the Duliu River is 365 km and the basin area of the river is about 15 000 km².The river runs swiftly in deep valley and is full of shallow beaches.

As you wind your way along the banks of the Duliu River, between Congjiang and Rongjiang in South Eastern Guizhou, you get great views and a tiny glimpse into local river life, and you will see local Miao minority people working in the fields and boats on the river as we pass by. Congjiang is a long thin city which stretches along the banks of the Duliu River. It seemed to be a new town as all the buildings were designed with a similar exterior - they were multi storied white buildings with all the windows covered in dark brown metal grilles.  

Villages located on the opposite bank often don’t have road access so it is not unusual to see passengers being ferried across in small wooden boats.  

The road here is better but not great and it seems to have fallen victim to the rigors of the rainy season topped off with the weight of heavy vehicles being used to construct a new highway and railway line through the area.  

Despite the road, the drive is quite beautiful and an interesting one especially if villagers are going about there daily business along the river.
