Mount Hua is located in Shaanxi Province, about 120 kilometers east of the city of Xi'an, near the city Huayin in China. Also known as Western Great Mountain, it is the western mountain of China's Five Sacred Taoist Mountains, and has a long history of religious significance. Originally classified as having three peaks, in modern times the mountain is classified as five main peaks, of which the highest is the South Peak at 2160 m.

D1 Xi’an – Mount Huashan
Your private guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel in Xi’an between 8:00 and 8:30 am, and then drive approximately 2 hours to Mount Huashan (Hua Shan) in Huayin County, Shaanxi Province.
After lunch at around 11:30 am, begin your exploration of Mount Huashan, one of China’s Five Great Mountains and traditionally known as the Western Mountain. Mount Huashan is famous for its dramatic granite peaks, steep cliffs and spectacular mountain scenery, with its highest point reaching approximately 2,155 meters above sea level.
Mount Huashan consists of five principal peaks: East Peak (Morning Sun Peak), West Peak (Lotus Flower Peak), Central Peak (Jade Maiden Peak), South Peak (Wild Goose Landing Peak), and North Peak (Cloud Terrace Peak). Each peak offers distinctive landscapes and panoramic views of the surrounding mountains.
From a distance, the five peaks resemble a lotus flower rising among the mountains. This is traditionally associated with the name Hua Shan, as “Hua” means “flower” in Chinese.
In the afternoon, take the cable car and mountain trails to reach your accommodation or designated overnight area, depending on your selected route. Enjoy the magnificent mountain scenery and prepare for an early start the following morning to watch the sunrise.

D2 Mount Huashan – Xi’an
Rise early to enjoy the spectacular sunrise over Mount Huashan. East Peak is one of the most popular locations for sunrise viewing, offering sweeping views of the surrounding peaks as the first sunlight illuminates the mountains.
After watching the sunrise, continue your descent from Mount Huashan. Have lunch at the foot of the mountain before driving back to Xi’an, arriving in the afternoon.
Upon arrival in Xi’an, you can either extend your stay with additional sightseeing in Xi’an or continue with your onward journey.
