D1 Xi’an City and Terra-cotta Museum Tours (Lunch)
Your tour guide in Xi’an will pick up you at hotel, and then drive to visit the Terra Cotta Warriors Museum. They were created to guard Emperor Qin Shihuang’s tomb and to protect him in the afterlife. It is estimated that there are over 7,000 life-size terra cotta figures and horses buried here. The museum complex features extensive exhibits, artifacts and a movie of the rich history of the site, plus breathtaking examples of the countless treasures unearthed here. And we will also visit a warrior factory to experience the making warrior by our own hands.
After lunch we will make one hour’s hiking tour on the Old City Wall to release our tired mind in lecture. The Old City Wall is located in the central area of Xi'an as one of the only well remained city wall in China. Four main gates of 12 meters high, 18 meters wide at the bottom, top width of 15 meters were left for entrance: Changle Gate (East Gate), Yongning Gate (South Gate), Anding Gate (West Gate), Anyuan Gate (North Gate) .The city wall is one of the most famous buildings from the late medieval city wall.
Xi’an is also a place liked by Muslim people, so the Xi'an Mosque is also deserved a visit, which belonged to the architectural style of the Ming and Qing dynasty covering over 12,300 square meters along the east-west. It has 180 rooms including temples, buildings and halls of six hundred pieces of distinctive pattern. It is a complex of classical Chinese architecture and Islamic architectural style perfect combination.

The next day’s tour start from Shanxi History Museum which is located in the northwest of the Big Wild Goose Pagoda in Xi'an, and it is the China's first large-scale modernization of the national museum. The museum falls into three parts: basic displaying, temporary exhibitions and thematic displaying. More than 3,000 pieces of cultural relics on displaying were unearthed from Shanxi province, and mostly are rare treasures.
And then let’s admire the ancient the Big Goose Pagoda which located in Xi'an Great Mercy Temple. It is built to protect the Sutra and Buddha that Master Xuanzang brought back through the Silk Road 1000 years ago. The Big Wild Goose Pagoda as the oldest and largest pavilion-style pagoda is totally seven-floor towers about 64.5 meters.
Our last attraction in Xi’an is the Forest of Steles which is a collection of ancient steles at the first time, the name of the monument up to a treasure trove of culture and arts. It displays a variety of stone from Han Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty and two thousand pieces epitaphs, the means of the Stele Forest is not only as historic monument, but more importantly, for their writing and calligraphy artistic value.
