Day 1 Xiamen / Yongding

Your private English-speaking guide will pick you up from your Xiamen Gaoqi Airport. And then your driver will transfer you to Fujian Tulou in Yongding Area in Longyan City, Fujian Province ( 2.5-3 hour’s drive). On the way, you will seeco banana plantations and coffee plantations. Stop in a tea field. You will take a walk in the tea plantation plucking tea leaves or just breathing the fresh air. You will also visit a tea house to watch an artistic Chinese tea ceremony and sip a cup of tasty Chinese tea.
According to historical documents, tea has been produced in the Fujian area for more than 1600 years. Fujian province produces 5 different types of tea - oolong tea, black tea, green tea, white tea and scented tea. The production techniques for all of these teas (except green tea) originated in Fujian province. Fujian is also the home of 336 varieties of tea plant - the largest number in all of China.

You will arrive at Gaobei Tulou Cluster and visit Chengqilou, the largest Tulou in this area, which is almost three hundred years old and is made up of four concentric circular buildings. This King of Round Earth Building has altogether 400 rooms and used to house 80 families, totaling 600 people in its prosperous days.

Arrive at Chuxi Tulou Cluster and check in the Hakka family hotel. Chuxi Tulou Cluster is situated on the hillside, about 40km southeast of Yongding County. There are five circular Tulou buildings and over a dozen of rectangular in shape in Chuxi village. You will visit Jiqinglou, Shengqilou and Yuqinglou, which are typical of the Hakka earth buildings in Chuxi Tulou Cluster. Jiqinglou was built in1419 during the reign of Emperor Yongle in Ming Dynasty. Jiqinglou is composed of two concentric rings – outer ring and inner ring with four floors. Jiqinglou has 72 staircases dividing the Tulou building into 72 independent Units. Shengqinglou was built in 1799. Covering an area of 660 square meters, three floors with 37 rooms in each one, Yuqinglou was first built in 1729, and now turn into a family hotel.
In the afternoon, you will visit a local family and chat with host and hostess to know about their daily life and local customs. Climb to the top of the nearby mountain and have a bird’s view of Chuxi village. Rest time will be free for you to stroll in the village.

Day 2 Yongding

Get up early and trek along the field path in the back mountain of Chuxi to see the beautiful idyllic views. You will also have chance to pick up local fruits and even try the primitive farm work. The terraced fields are built along the sloe-winding riverside up to the mountain top. They look like great chains or ribbons hung on the hillsides as they wind round the contours in tiered bands.

Visiting Yantai Village,which is one of the most beautiful hakka villages, where you will see the breathtaking scenery of terraced rice fields, and feel the best communal living atmosphere.

Visit Nanxi Tulou Valley, which is called the "Great Wall of Tulou" with more than 100 earth buildings in the valley stretching for 10km. Zhenfulou, Yanxianglou are Recommended tulous to visit.

Day 3 Liancheng / Xiamen

Head for Liancheng, Visit Peitian Ancient village – the Forbidden City in the south. Being a well preserved ancient Hakka village, Peitian Ancient Village lies on the foot of the major scenic resort of China -- Guanzhai Mountain in Liancheng County, Fujian Province. Since the Ming and the Qing Dynasties, the village has served as a key interchange station connecting official roads to Changting and Liancheng. The history of this "Peitian Ancient Folk House" is more than 800 years, which can date back to the Southern Song Dynasty.

Head back for Xiamen, Arrive at around 18:00.
