2-Day Kunming & Jianshui Ancient Town Tour

Your private guide and driver will meet you at your hotel in Kunming in the morning and drive south to Jianshui, a historic town in Yunnan known for its traditional architecture, ancient temples and rich cultural heritage.
The journey takes approximately 3 hours. Upon arrival in Jianshui, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before beginning your sightseeing.
In the afternoon, visit the Zhu Family Garden, one of the finest examples of traditional residential architecture in Jianshui. Built by the prosperous Zhu family during the late Qing Dynasty, the complex covers around 20,000 square meters and features a series of courtyards, elegant residences, gardens, ponds and traditional decorative details.
Take a leisurely walk through the interconnected courtyards and gardens while learning about the lifestyle of a wealthy family in Yunnan during the late Qing period. The combination of traditional Chinese architecture and carefully designed gardens makes Zhu Family Garden one of Jianshui’s most distinctive attractions.
After sightseeing, check in to your local hotel and enjoy dinner.

After breakfast, visit the Jianshui Confucius Temple, one of the most important historic Confucian temples in Yunnan.
Originally built during the Yuan Dynasty, the temple complex was modeled on the traditional layout of the Confucius Temple in Qufu, Shandong, the hometown of Confucius. Over the centuries, it developed into an extensive complex of gates, courtyards, halls, pavilions and ancient trees.
Walk through the peaceful grounds and learn about the influence of Confucianism on traditional Chinese education and culture. The temple’s architecture and tranquil courtyards also provide an excellent introduction to Jianshui’s long history.
After lunch, begin the approximately 3-hour drive back to Kunming. Upon arrival, your guide and driver will transfer you to your hotel or another agreed location.
