Upon arrival at Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport or Chengdu Tianfu International Airport, your local guide from China Exploration will warmly meet you and transfer you to your hotel for rest.
Known as a city where tradition meets modern life, Chengdu combines ancient culture, relaxed lifestyle, and modern development. With convenient transportation connections, Chengdu has become the major travel hub of western China, offering flights to many domestic destinations as well as international cities including Hong Kong, Singapore, Bangkok, Sydney, Amsterdam, Seoul, Tokyo, Frankfurt, and San Francisco.

D2 Chengdu / Huanglong National Park / Jiuzhaigou
(Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Your Sichuan nature adventure begins today. In the morning, take a short flight from Chengdu to Jiuzhaigou Huanglong Airport (approximately 50 minutes). Upon arrival, your local guide will meet you and continue the journey to Huanglong National Park.
Although you will quickly travel from Chengdu’s altitude of about 500 meters to the high-altitude region of Huanglong at over 3,000 meters, most visitors adapt well due to the area’s rich forests and fresh mountain air. It is recommended to walk slowly and allow your body time to adjust.
Huanglong is located about 40 minutes by mountain road from the airport. Depending on your arrival time, lunch will be arranged either near the airport or at the foot of Huanglong Mountain.
After lunch, begin your hiking adventure in this magnificent alpine landscape. The walking route takes approximately 4 hours, including about 2 hours ascending and 2 hours descending. Starting from around 3,070 meters, you will gradually hike toward Huanglong Temple and Wucaichi (Five-Color Pools) at approximately 3,558 meters.
Along the way, enjoy breathtaking views of ancient forests, snow-capped mountains, and colorful calcified pools formed by thousands of years of natural processes. The crystal-clear turquoise waters of Wucaichi are the highlight of Huanglong and one of Sichuan’s most beautiful natural wonders.
If you prefer a less challenging experience, you may take the cable car (optional extra cost) and enjoy the scenery more comfortably.
After descending from Huanglong, drive approximately 2 hours to Zhangzha Town, located near Jiuzhaigou Valley. Along the way, beautiful mountain landscapes and Tibetan villages accompany your journey.
Overnight near Jiuzhaigou.
