3 Days Mt. Emeishan Hiking Tour
As the First Buddhism Mountain in China, Mt. Emei is the paradise of Buddhism culture, plants and animals. And Leshan Giant Buddha is the largest Buddhism statue in the world, which has the reputation of Buddha Mountain. It is a good experience to hike in these Buddhism world to explore the Buddhism culture as well as enjoy the beautiful mountain and nature.
China Exploration designed this trip by making full use of the public and convenient transition to cut down the price for the tourist. Hiking will be done mostly in the zigzagging stone stages; you will enjoy the beautiful mountain, naughty monkeys, and temples. The hiking is easy to do, suitable for most of the traveler with normal health condition.

D1 Chengdu – Mount Emei Hiking
Meals: Lunch, Dinner
Your guide will pick you up at your hotel in Chengdu in the early morning and accompany you to the railway station for the bullet train C6291 (08:43–09:59) to Mount Emei. Upon arrival, you will first visit Baoguo Temple, the gateway to Mount Emei and an important Buddhist temple at the foot of the mountain.
Afterward, take a sightseeing bus to Wuxiangang Bus Station, near Qingyin Pavilion, where your hiking adventure begins.
Hiking: Qingyin Pavilion – Wannian Temple – Xixiangchi Temple
Distance: approximately 2 km + 14 km
Hiking time: approximately 7 hours
The trail takes you through lush forests and along peaceful mountain paths, passing several scenic and religious sites. You will visit Qingyin Pavilion and Wannian Temple before continuing toward Xixiangchi Temple, where you will spend the night.
Overnight: Guesthouse near Xixiangchi Temple
The accommodation on the mountain is flexible and will be adjusted by your guide according to your hiking progress and arrival time. If you feel tired or do not wish to continue all the way to Xixiangchi Temple, your guide can arrange suitable accommodation at an earlier location along the route.
D2 Mount Emei Hiking – Golden Summit
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Today, continue your Mount Emei hiking adventure toward Golden Summit (Jinding), the highest and most spectacular area of the mountain.
You will hike through the high-altitude virgin forest and gradually ascend toward the summit. Along the way, enjoy the changing mountain scenery and, weather permitting, spectacular views above the clouds.
Hiking: Xixiangchi Temple – Leidongping – Jieyindian – Golden Summit
Distance: approximately 7.5 km + 1.5 km + 6 km
Hiking time: approximately 6 hours
At Golden Summit, you will have the opportunity to admire the magnificent Golden Buddha statue and enjoy the famous Sea of Clouds, one of Mount Emei’s most impressive natural sights.
In the afternoon, descend Mount Emei by cable car and sightseeing bus. Your guide will then transfer you to your hotel in Emei City.
As an optional evening experience, you may enjoy a relaxing hot spring bath to soothe your muscles and recover from the day’s hiking.

D3 Mount Emei – Leshan Giant Buddha – Chengdu
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
After breakfast, take a sightseeing bus from Mount Emei to Leshan Giant Buddha Scenic Area.
The Leshan Giant Buddha is the world’s largest stone Buddha statue and stands dramatically at the confluence of three rivers. You will hike along the scenic mountain trails and enjoy different views of this remarkable cultural and religious landmark.
One of the highlights is the famous local saying that “the mountain is a sleeping Buddha, and the stone Buddha sits in its heart.” Compared with the previous two days of hiking on Mount Emei, the walking route at Leshan is less demanding.
After the hike, you may choose to take an optional river cruise for a different perspective of the Leshan Giant Buddha. From the river, you can appreciate the full scale and impressive proportions of the statue.
After the visit, transfer to Leshan Railway Station and take bullet train C6270 (17:12–18:15) back to Chengdu.
Trip ends upon arrival in Chengdu.
