Jinsha Ruins Site is the first important archaeological discovery in China in the 21st century, and the museum is built in theme park style especially for the protection, research and exhibition of the unearth relic discovered in the Jinsha Site. The Jinsha Site Museum is formed with some parts as following: relic museum, exhibition hall and relic protection centre, while other distraction is covered with grassland, creating a beautiful environment.
Located between the Qingyang Taoist Temple and Dufu Thatched cottage, the Sichuan Museum is an important place to collect and exhibit the culture relic of Sichuan. The Museum boasts a collection of more than 160,000 cultural relics telling the story of Sichuan, over 2,000 of which are in the first and second class. The most characteristic ones are the Bashu(old name for Sichuan area) bronze; drawings of Daqian Zhang, a famous painter; portray brick of Han dynasty; natural relic of the majority, etc., and the revolutionary heritage is also of high historical and art value.
Dufu, the greatest realistic poet of Tang Dynasty 1000 years ago, had lived 3 years in the poor cottage at west Chengdu and left most of his master pieces. Although the Dufu thatched cottage had been flow away by wind of history, we still felt his existence by his brilliant poem.
Songxianqiao antique market, located to Dufu Thatched Cottage, is made up of 2 sections: booths and shops. The booths stretch one or two hundred meters along a path on both sides, and the shops cover a vast, seemingly endless area. The goods on the booths are a mixture of different items, basically dominated by one category and complemented by many alternatives. Most of them are second hand goods, such as copper coins, old issue RMB, badges, illustrated books, old-fashioned watches and timepieces, gramophones, and even wall calendars, diplomas and marriage licenses from times gone by. On these booths, you can find copies of almost all the famous bronze and pottery cultural relics, and some small goods as well, such as bone carvings and hairpins.
The Temple of Marquis(Wuhou Temple), also named as "Temple of Zhaolie of Han", is the memorial temple built for Emperor Liu Bei of Shu Kingdom and the minister Zhuge Liang during the Three Kingdoms period. Located in the south suburb of Chengdu, the temple covers 37,000 square meters. The Three Kingdoms period is a time of division and unity, and many stories about Liu Bei and Zhuge Liang were left today. The Temple of Marquis is of high historical and cultural value for the scholars studying the Three Kingdoms culture.
The old Jinli street is actually a part of The Temple of Marquis, so the theme is also Three Kingdoms Culture, a traditional folk custom. But unlike the other one, which is mainly for commemorate, Jinli is a famous commercial street in Chengdu. The buildings being in the Qing Dynasty style, the street is rigorous orderly built.
Wangjianglou Park is a great place of interest to relax oneself. The former park consists of the towers and houses built for a great female poet called Xue Tao during Tang Dynasty, and then was set aside and given the name Wangjiang Park.
Chunxi Road is the most prosperous street in Chengdu, located in the city center. This pedestrian street is the best place in Chengdu for shopping as well as getting to understand the Chengdu culture.

Day 1: Jinsha Site Museum – Sichuan Museum – Du Fu Thatched Cottage – Songxianqiao Antique Market

Your Chengdu cultural journey begins this morning. Your guide will pick you up from your hotel and take you to the Jinsha Site Museum, one of the most important archaeological discoveries in Sichuan.
Dating back more than 3,000 years, the Jinsha archaeological site reveals the mysterious ancient Shu civilization that once flourished in the Chengdu Plain. During your visit, you will learn about ancient sacrificial ceremonies, daily life, social development, and the remarkable achievements of early Sichuan civilization.
The museum is uniquely designed around the original archaeological excavation site, allowing visitors to observe the actual excavation area and understand how archaeologists uncover the secrets of the past. Precious cultural treasures, including the famous Gold Sun Bird (Golden Sun Disc), provide a fascinating insight into ancient Chinese civilization.
Continue to the Sichuan Museum, one of the largest museums in southwest China. With multiple exhibition halls featuring thousands of historical treasures, the museum showcases a wide range of collections including ancient ceramics, Chinese paintings, calligraphy, Buddhist art, and traditional crafts.
Through these remarkable collections, you will gain a deeper understanding of Sichuan’s long history and rich cultural heritage.
After lunch, visit Du Fu Thatched Cottage, the former residence of the legendary Tang Dynasty poet Du Fu, one of China’s greatest poets.
Surrounded by beautiful gardens, bamboo forests, traditional architecture, and poetic landscapes, the cottage recreates the peaceful environment where Du Fu lived and created many of his famous works. Walking through the gardens and viewing the statues of Du Fu, you can better appreciate the spirit, compassion, and patriotism reflected in his poetry.
Your final stop today is Songxianqiao Antique Market, a fascinating local market popular among collectors and culture lovers.
The shops here specialize in different traditional items, including Chinese calligraphy and paintings, antique furniture, old wooden doors and windows, Tibetan handicrafts, and colorful traditional clothing from ethnic groups such as the Miao people.
This is a wonderful place to discover traditional Chinese arts and perhaps find a unique cultural souvenir.

Day 2: Wuhou Temple – Jinli Ancient Street – Wangjiang Park Bamboo Garden – Chunxi Road

After breakfast, your guide and driver will take you to Wuhou Temple, one of Chengdu’s most famous historical attractions.
Dedicated to Zhuge Liang, the legendary strategist of the Three Kingdoms period, Wuhou Temple combines traditional Chinese architecture, ancient gardens, historical monuments, and cultural stories. Here, you can admire elegant temple buildings while learning about one of the most fascinating periods in Chinese history.
Next to Wuhou Temple is Jinli Ancient Street, one of Chengdu’s most popular traditional streets.
Walking through the narrow lanes, you will discover wooden buildings, red lanterns, traditional decorations, local handicraft shops, teahouses, and Sichuan snacks. The street recreates the atmosphere of old Chengdu and offers a wonderful combination of history, food, and local culture.
When evening arrives, Jinli becomes especially charming as lanterns illuminate the traditional streets and local performances bring the ancient neighborhood to life.
After lunch, continue to Wangjiang Park (Wangjiang Tower Park), also known as Chengdu’s famous bamboo garden.
The park was built to commemorate Xue Tao, a talented female poet from the Tang Dynasty. Its most iconic building is Wangjiang Tower (Chongli Pavilion), a beautiful four-story structure rising 39 meters above the park.
The highlight of Wangjiang Park is its impressive bamboo collection, featuring more than 100 varieties of bamboo. Walking through the peaceful bamboo forests, visitors can enjoy the gentle sound of leaves moving in the breeze and experience a quiet escape from the busy city.
Finally, visit Chunxi Road, Chengdu’s most famous commercial pedestrian street.
Here, you can experience modern Chengdu life, explore shopping centers, taste local snacks, and observe the contrast between the city’s traditional heritage and contemporary lifestyle.
