Chengdu is the paradise for tourist, around it a lot of beautiful nature reserves and historic sites are scattered in the mountains. It is wide Tibetan plateau and mountains in the West Chengdu, and a lot of snow mountains, grassland, Tibetan monasteries can be visited with convenient transportation. Your tour will start from Chengdu to Danba, a romantic place famous for its unique Jiarong Tibetan culture and beautiful women. And then you will enter wide Tibetan plateau to enjoy the pure snow mountain and scared monastery, also experience Kham Tibetan culture. Besides them, you will also have chance to encounter with giant Panda in Wolong panda nature reserve, learn about the hard and glorious history of Long March of Red Army.
Because of the long distance and mountain road condition, long time’s driving can not be avoided, so you may sit in the car for about 8 to 10 hours in order to cover the road, but it is deserved for the beautiful nature!
Don’t worry too much about the plateau sickness, because the long time’s overland tour may bring you enough time to be acclimated. The normal health condition is acceptable for this trip.

D1 Chengdu / Luding / Kangding ( Lunch, Dinner )
Your Chengdu tour starts in the early morning today, the guide from China Exploration will take you to Kangding all the day, about 380kms away from Chengdu and about 7 hours’ driving, half on express way and half mountain road on No 318 state highway. The landscape will change from wide plain to big mountain area gradually. In the route you will pass Mt Erlangshan, which used to be the first and most dangerous gate to Tibetan area, but now tunnel make trip much easier, just 10 minutes you will cross the mountain and enter Tibetan area. The bright world appearing in front of us will bring us the feeling that enter another world.Luding Bridge had played key role in the early history of Chinese communist party. If they were stopped by the bridge and Dadu River, so they would facing the danger of perished completely by Chiang Kai-shek army, but God helped them, and the brave heroes crossed the bridge naked with only chains after fierce battle ! In the afternoon you will drop a tour in this famous bridge.
You will continue the tour along Dadu River, and arrive in Kangding in the late afternoon. It is only 2560 meters in sea level, so you can be acclimated today by free walking in the beautiful Tibetan style city.
D2 Kangding / Xinduqiao / Tagong / Danba ( Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner )
Your tour will enter Tibetan plateau today. And your first Tibetan monastery is the Buddha’s Warrior temple in Kangding, where you will learn about Tibetan culture and Buddhism. And then you will cross over the mountain pass of 4200 meters of Zeduoshan and enter the wide Tibetan plateau.Yes, you are in wide Tibetan plateau now. The washed blue sky, waving hill humps, yaks, all will show you a new world, it is the kingdom of Buddha, land of purity, please let go all of the pressure and worries!
Xinduqiao village has the reputation of Photography paradise. Tibetan Herdsman, Stone Tibetan houses, villages, wooden bridge, white poplar forest, hills, clean brooks, all get long, and built a picture of harmony. And Tagong is a typical Tibetan town 30 kms away from it. Wide Tagong Grassland, huge Tagong Monastery, and distant view of Snow peak of Mt. Yala, will show us another beautiful side of Tibetan plateau. If you like, you can even rent horse from local Tibetan and have short time’s riding tour on the grassland!
Tibetan plateau will continue showing off its beauty in your tour Today. The Rock Forest of Bamei, bonsai garden valley of Donggu, everywhere may kill your film! Oh, you can not miss Huiyuan Monastery for sure. It is a small monastery just a few miles off the main road, but it has high position in Tibet. The 7th Dalai Lame used to take refuge here due to invasion of Mongolian to Lhasa in 1728, and the 11th Dalai Lama was also born here in 1838.
Arrive in Danba in the late afternoon, and you will head for Jiaju Tibetan village in the mountain directly. It is a tour of home stay in local Tibetan family guest house today. And China Exploration would like to invite you try dinner of Tibetan food tonight!
D3 Danba / Rilong ( Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner )
Continue your Danba tours today. Get up in the early morning to breathe the clean air of mountain, and walk around in the village. It’s widely spread that the girls of Danba are the most beautiful in Tibetan area, and local villagers also have the folklore of holding beauty contest every year, try your chance!Tibetan in Danba care very much about the beauty of their houses, so their houses are normally built in good location, beautifully decorated outside and inside. Their composed a beautiful picture together with the mountain, fields and plants around them. And Jiaju village is the most beautiful in Danba, so China Exploration will take you up the best point to watch the village and mountain.
After tour of Jiaju village, your guide will take you to Suopo Tower houses. In ancient time, wars were frequently broken between villages, so clever Tibetan created tower house to protect themselves. It still remains as mystery how local people built such high towers without modern tools! And today a lot of towers are well reserved in Danba, and best place is Sopo village.
In the afternoon you will continue your tour to Rilong village by 2 hours’ driving. Xiaojin, Dawei, and Rilong, you can enjoy more view along the waving road and river. Arrive in Rilong town in the late afternoon, stay in the hotel for night today.
D4 Rilong / Wolong / Chengdu
Mt. Siguniangshan got its name from the 4 snow peaks of 6250ms, 5355m, 5279ms, 5025ms, which means mountain of four girls. It is the paradise for mountain climbing actually, freshman can start from the lowest, and veteran can chanllenge 6250ms. Of course, China Exploration does not take you for mountain climbing here, at the foot mountain is beautiful Changpinggou valley. In this valley you can admire the glories of 4 peaks, and also make a mild hiking tour in the trails of forest. The trail can lead you to other side of mountain, but you don’t need to walk such long, just stop when you are tired.In the afternoon, you will return Chengdu either by Mt. Jiajinshan of 4000 ms or Mt. Balangshan of 5040 ms. Which route to take, depend on the road condition at that time. But for us, we prefer route of Mt. Balangshan, there is a Chinese saying The Boundless vista is at the perilous peak. In this tour, tourist can enjoy the cloud sea and more snow peaks.
In the late afternoon you will arrive in Chengdu, and your tour of Chengdu finished today with sweet memory.
