Leitai Han Tomb

Leitai Han tomb, the place unearthed the China's tourism symbol, sky horse stepping on flying swallow. The Han Tomb is located at No.272, Beiguan Middle Road, Liangzhou District, Wuwei City, Gansu Province. It was built in the late Eastern Han Dynasty and is famous for the unearthed Chinese tourism symbol horse stepping on flying swallow.

Lei Tai is the place of sacrifice to Thor in ancient times, and the Lei Tai Han tomb was built in the late Eastern Han Dynasty, was the tomb of Zhangjun, the governer of Zhangye, about 186-219 AD.

Leitai Han tomb is a large brick and stone tomb, both tombs are built under the earth platform (Lei Tai). Tomb No.1 is a husband and wife burial tomb with high specifications. The tomb gate to the east, composed of a long ramp, corridor, front chamber (with the left and right ear ventricle), middle chamber (with the right ear ventricle) and back chamber. There is the bedroom hall, and the hall is the annex building of the bedroom. Above the tomb door is a brick carving door, with the total length of the tomb room 19.34 meters, a brick masonry, a bucket top, and a square brick painted with a large lotus pattern. The shape of tomb no. 2 is similar to tomb No.1, but it is less than large and has no ear chamber.

More than 230 cultural relics such as gold, silver, copper, iron, jade, bone, lacquer, stone and pottery, and more than 30,000 ancient coins were unearthed. Among them, there are 127 bronze ware (some have inscriptions). The most exquisite casting is the bronze chariot and horse honor guard, 99 terracotta figures of honor, and the highest technological level is a bronze galloping horse.

CopperRunning Horse
Copper galloping horse, also known as "horse stepping flying swallow", 34.5 cm high, 40.5 cm long, hind leg right foot on a bird, three feet into the air, long tail raised, copper galloping horse unearthed in Wuwei, Gansu Province in October 1969, now collected in the Gansu Provincial Museum.

Copper galloping horse, a hoof swallow, three feet volley, head held high with tail flying, galloping. Copper galloping horse's body is vivid in scultpure, is a perfect combination of reality and imagination. The creator put a foot of the galloping horse on a flying swallow, and let the flying swallow look back and spread its wings, as if the soaring galloping horse had surpassed the flying swallow like a meteor. This makes people seem to feel the wind and lightning, and instant thousands of miles of dynamic, "unrestrained", the momentum. The creator strangely and harmoniously eliminates the ground and the space obstacle, solves the contradiction between the weight and the speed, the imagination and the reality in the plastic art, and at the same time, scientifically achieves the effect of balance and stability, and perfectly shapes the image of a galloping horse flying in the sky.
