Litang County belongs to Gartzei Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Sichuan Province, 285 kilometers away from Kangding, 654 kilometers away from Chengdu, just on the line of No. 318 National Highway. There are nine ethnic groups: Tibetan, Han, Mongolian, Hui, Naxi, Tujia, Yi, Miao and Qiang.  
Litang County means a grassland as flat as a bronze mirror in Tibetan, is named after the Maoya grassland in vast expanse. The county altitude is 4014 meters above sea level and is known as the "high city in the world".
This "high city" with an altitude of about 4000 meters will make tourists breathless. The rolling mountains, vast grasslands, clear lakes and majestic temples all make tourists shocked and amazed.
 
Genie Sacred Mountain
Genie mountain is located in the southwest of Litang County with an altitude of 6204 meters. It is the highest peak in southern Kang area and the second peak in Sichuan Province. It belongs to the 13th goddess among the 24 sacred mountains of Tibetan Buddhism in China.
 
Litang International Horse Racing Festival 
Litang International Horse Racing Festival has a long history internationally. From every Augsut 1^st to 7^th a traditional folk festival will be held in Litang County, the Tibetan people from around villages will gather here with their horses and famlillies. And tents will be set up on the grassland for miles. Every day there will be competition of horse riding skills, such as horse trekking, shooting on the horse back, pick-up Hada from horse back, speeding race hiding under the belly of horse. And it is not only a horse skill competition, also a ceremony of Summer. Tibetan will have close fasion show show and crafts and food trade.
 
Litang Monastery
The Changqingchun keer Temple,  also known as Litang Temple, was founded in 1580 by the third Dalai Lama. Litang Temple is the oldest and largest Tibetan Buddhist temple in Kham area. "Changqing" means Maitreya Buddha (that is, the future Buddha), "Chunkeer" means Falun.
Covering an area of more than 500 acres, Litang Temple accommodates more than 4,300 monks, with about 800 permanent residents. It is the largest Gelug Sect (Yellow Sect) temple in Kang area and is known as the "Buddhist Holy Land in south Kham area". There are various types of gilded bronze statues of Sakyamuni, Buddhist classics, murals of the Ming and Qing Dynasties and other precious cultural relics in the temple. The butter plastic flower festival on the fifteenth day of the Tibetan calendar is hailed as "one feature in Khampa area".
 
Maoya Grassland
Located in Hengduan Mountains, with an altitude of 3,800-4,500 meters, it covers an area of more than 300 square kilometers. The Maoya Prairie is endowed with unique advantages: there are crescent-shaped freshwater lakes scattered in the depths of the grassland. There is a tall white pagoda standing on the grassland, which is said to be one of the three pagodas built by Princess Wencheng when she entered Tibet.
