Liurongsi Six Banyan Temple
LiuRong Temple, means Six Banyan Temple, is located in LiuRong Street, Yuexiu District, Guangzhou city. It was built in the Southern Dynasties of Liu, Song and Yuan dynasties (420-479 AD). Wang Bo, Su Shi and other celebrities have visited it. In the third year of the Song and Yuan dynasties (1100 AD), the famous poet Su Shi came to visit and inscribed the book "Six Banyan".
Later generations carved a stone plaque in the temple, thus officially called "Six Banyan Temple".
Six Banyan Temple covers an area of 13,500 square meters, with six Banyan flower tower, for a pavilion brick tower, octagonal plane, facing south, appearance 9 levels, each two levels of dark layers, a total of 17 layers of light and shade. The pagoda niche contains thousands of Buddha statues, also known as the Thousand Buddha Pagoda.
There are another six ancestors bronze statue of Master Huineng, "six banyan" plaque and other historical relics. On the first and 15th day of the lunar month, Buddha's Christmas, Buddha bath Festival, Guanyin birthday, there are large-scale land law meeting, blessing and other activities. In the early years of the Republic of China, banyan trees were replanted and banyan pavilions were built to commemorate Su Shi.
