D1. Arrive in Kaili – Xijiang Miao Village

 

Arrive at Kaili Railway Station around noon by high-speed train from Guiyang or another city in China. Your local guide will meet you at the station and drive you to Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village, also known as the Xijiang Thousand-Household Miao Village.

 

Xijiang is one of the most famous Miao communities in Guizhou. The village stretches across the surrounding hills, with thousands of traditional wooden houses built along the mountainsides. From the viewpoints around the village, you can enjoy the remarkable harmony between the natural landscape and the traditional Miao settlement.

 

Take a leisurely walk through the village and explore its winding lanes, wooden houses, traditional architecture, and surrounding rice terraces. Your guide will introduce you to the history, customs, and daily life of the Miao people.

 

As evening approaches, the hillside houses begin to light up, creating a beautiful view across the valley. You can enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the village after the daytime crowds have left.

 

Stay overnight in a local Miao-style hotel in Xijiang.

 

D2. Xijiang – Langde Miao Village – Kaili Departure

 

Enjoy a quiet morning in Xijiang and take some time to experience the village at a relaxed pace. In the morning light, the traditional wooden houses and surrounding mountains create a particularly peaceful atmosphere.

 

Later, leave Xijiang and travel to Langde Miao Village, a smaller and quieter Miao community near Kaili. Compared with Xijiang, Langde has a more tranquil atmosphere and provides an opportunity to experience traditional Miao customs and village life at a slower pace.

 

If the timing is right, you may have the opportunity to see a traditional Miao welcoming ceremony, featuring folk songs, dancing, and local customs used to welcome visitors. Your guide will explain the meaning behind these traditions and introduce you to the distinctive culture of the Miao people.

 

Take a leisurely walk through the village and admire its traditional wooden stilt houses, stone-paved lanes, and surrounding green mountains.

 

In the afternoon, your guide and driver will transfer you to Kaili Railway Station for your onward high-speed train to Guiyang or another destination.
