In the morning,pick up from hotel. Visit the Gegentala Grassland. Gegentala means "a place for spending summer" in Mongolian. Gegentala Grassland is the largest and a unique Mongolian scenic spot bearing the Mongolian ethical features of China. Tourists can learn the customs and manners of the Mongolian people living on the grassland north of the Great Wall. They also can take a horseback ride, visiting the herdsmen's tent and enjoy the Mongolian Singing and Dances. Stay overnight at tent.
D2 Hohhot Transfer back to Hohhot
Visit Zhaojun Tomb. The tomb was built for Wang Zhaojun, one of four famous beauties of ancient China and a maid in the imperial palace of the Emperor Yuan Di of the Han Dynasty. She volunteered to marry the chief Huhanye of Xiongnu Horde and made great contributions to the unity of Han and Huns. It was said that the green grass on the huge tomb never turned yellow even in late autumn. Move on to visit Dazhao Temple. It is the oldest building and the largest temple in Hohhot. Built by Alatan Khan--chief of Tumd Mongolian Tribe in the 7th year of Wanli Age of the Ming Dynasty, the temple is noted for impressive buildings, splendid statues, delicate frescos, musical instruments and fine collection of Buddhist scriptures. Transfer back to the hotel after the tour.
