Located 163 kilometers away from Chongqing, the general term of "Dazu Grottoes " refers to all the cliffs and rocks carvings in Dazu County. 75 spots of cliff carvings and grottoes composed of more than 60000 statues and over 100000 Chinese characters of inscriptions and epigraphs are well protected.
The work of Dazu grottoes and carvings began in 650 A.D of the Tang Dynasty (618-907 A.D), and had continued until Ming (1368-1644 A.D) and Qing (1644-1911 A.D) dynasties. It enjoys equal popularity with Dunhuang frescoes and forms the trilogy with Yungang and Longmen Grottoes. In 1999, UNESCO listed Dazu Stone Carvings as a world cultural heritage site.

D1 Chongqing / Wulong 3 hours’ driving, 186 Kms.
Your Chongqing tour startS from the hotel or airport this morning. Your guide will take you to Wulong, a beautiful county about 186 km away from the main city of Chongqing. Enjoy the mountain and river en route. About 3 hours’ driving you will arrive at Wulong. Your Wulong tour starts from the Furong Karst cave at first. It is said the Wulong Karst Cave is the only Karst cave enlisted in the world natural heritage. And drive to Xiannv town in the late afternoon for the night. In the evening, you can watch the famous show of Wulong Impression, which will tell you about the life of Chongqing people, and the moving history of Yangtze and Three Gorges Dam.

Today your Wulong tour will begin from the huge Sink Hole. It is a huge sink hole under the ground as large as a few succor ground. And you will walk down to the bottom, and then exit from the beautiful valley. And then our guide will take you to the Great Crack of the earth. It might be caused by some earthquake, or some geological movement. It is about 1000 meters deep under the earth, and 2 kilometers in length. It is also a hiking expedition! About 1:00 pm, you will complete the tour, and then drive back to Chongqing.

D3 Chongqing / Dazu / Chongqing
And today you will make a tour in Dazu Buddhism rock carving firstly. About 2 hours’ driving from Chongqing, you will arrive there. It was a kind of fashion for ancient Chinese people to built the rock carving based on the Buddhism tales or locals, and Dazu Rock Carving groups are among the best reserved in China. Many of the carving groups were found here, and the most famous are Baodingshan hill group and Beishan Hill group. And here you will enjoy many beautiful and vivid carvings in Baodingshan.
In the afternoon you will drive back to Chongqing, and your Chongqing tour will continue in the symbolic architecture – People's Hall of Chongqing, it was completed in 1954 to memorize China's resistance war and establishment of new government, one of the top 10 classic architectures in 20th century Asia. And your last stop of the tour is Ciqikou old town. It got its name from making China wares in the ancient time, and it is also a good place to explore local folklores. And your guide will send you to airport or board the Yangtze cruise in the evening. Then your tour in Chongqing is finished.
