Dragon Well and Longjing Tea
Longjing, meaning Dragon Well, is one of the four famous springs in Hangzhou, and the water quality is clear and sweet. It is said that Ge Hong in the Jin Dynasty once made alchemy here. The tea produced near Longjing village is called Longjing tea, which is famous at home and abroad, according to the origin of lion, dragon, cloud, tiger, plum; namely, Lion peak, Longjing, Yunqi, Hurun and Meijiawu.

Dragon Well is a round spring pool, the drought does not dry, the ancients people thought that this spring connected with the sea, among them there was a dragon, so it was called Drgon Well,  in Chinese Longjing. About 500 meters away from Longjing, there is Longjing Temple, commonly known as the old Longjing. Now the temple has been abandoned, and was secluded for a tea house.

The water of Longjing Spring consists of two parts: groundwater and surface water. The proportion of groundwater is large, so the groundwater is under, and the surface water is on the top. If the spring,  water in the well is stirred with a rod, so the spring water below will turn to the surface of the water to form a circle of water line. When the local spring water sinks again, the water line gradually shrinks and eventually disappears, which is very interesting.

West Lake Longjing Tea is one of the top ten famous teas in China. It belongs to green tea. It is produced in the mountains around West Lake Longjing Village in Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province, hence its name, and has a history of more than 1,200 years. When the Emperor of Qianlong visited the West Lake in Hangzhou, the Qing Dynasty praised the West Lake Longjing tea and sealed the 18 tea trees in front of the Huguang Temple under the Shifeng Mountain as "imperial tea". West Lake Longjing was sealed according to the shape and the quality of the best as 1~8 levels.

Super-grade West Lake Longjing tea is flat, smooth and straight, the color is pale green and smooth, the aroma is fresh and clear, the taste is fresh and mellow, and the bottom of the leaves is tender. Longjing tea produced before the Tomb Sweeping Day is known as the Ming Longjing, the daughter red. West Lake Longjing tea, like West Lake, is the perfect crystallization of people, nature and culture, and is an important carrier of West Lake regional culture.

West Lake Longjing Tea has a long history, which can be traced back to the Tang Dynasty in China. At that time, Lu Yu, the famous tea saint at that time, produced tea in Hangzhou Tianzhu and Lingyin Temple in the world's first tea monograph, Tea Classic. The name of West Lake Longjing tea began in the Song Dynasty, was heard in the Yuan Dynasty, flourished in the Ming Dynasty, and flourished in the Qing Dynasty. In the historical evolution of more than one thousand years, West Lake Longjing tea, from the unknown to the famous, from the home drinks after dinner to the tribute of emperors and generals, from the famous tea of the Chinese nation to the famous products to the world, began its glorious period.

As early as the Northern Song Dynasty, the Longjing tea area had initially formed a scale. At that time, "Xianglin tea" from Lingyin lower Tianzhu Xianglin Cave, "Baiyun Tea" from upper Tianzhu Baiyun Peak and "Baoyun Tea" from Geling Baoshan Mountain were listed as tributes. The eminent monk in the Northern Song Dynasty, was also the place where he and Su Dongpo drank poems at the foot of Shifeng Mountain in Longjing. Su Dongpo wrote poems to praise Longjing tea and wrote plaques such as "Old Longjing". Today, there are still hanging rocks at the foot of Lion Mountain in the Temple of Shousheng Temple and 18 imperial tea gardens.
In the Southern Song Dynasty, Hangzhou became the capital of the country, and the tea production was further developed. In the Yuan Dynasty, the quality of Longjing tea was further improved. In the Ming Dynasty, West Lake Longjing tea began to emerge, and its reputation gradually spread far in the country. It began to go out of the temple and be drunk by ordinary people. At the same time, West Lake Longjing tea has been listed as a famous tea in China. West Lake Longjing tea in the famous tea recorded by Xu Wenchang, a talented man in the south of the Yangtze River.

Emperor Qianlong went to the south of the Yangtze River six times, and came to the West Lake Longjing tea area four times to watch the tea production, taste tea and compose poems. The eighteen tea trees in front of the Hu Gong Temple were also sealed as "imperial tea". Since then, West Lake Longjing tea is famous at home and abroad, and people come to taste tea in an endless stream. West Lake Longjing tea to the "Lion Peak, Longjing, Yunqi, Tiger Run, Meijiawu" arranged products first, with West Lake Longjing tea as the most. Longjing tea looks straight, flat, smooth, green and yellow. After brewing, the aroma is clear and lasting, fragrant if orchid; soup color apricot green, clear and bright, leaf bottom tender green, even into a flower, bud upright, lifelike. Taste tea soup, refreshing, fragrant between the teeth, endless aftertaste.
