Xiannu Shan Fairy Mountain in Wulong
Fairy Mountain National Forest Park (Xiannvshan Mountain Scenic Area) is located in Wulong District, Chongqing Municipality. As one of the most famous natural attractions near Chongqing, it is a national forest park renowned for its magnificent alpine grasslands, dense forests, unique mountain scenery, and pleasant climate.
Covering an area of approximately 100 square kilometers, Fairy Mountain National Forest Park has an average elevation of about 1,900 meters, with its highest peak reaching 2,033 meters. The park features more than 330,000 mu of forest and over 100,000 mu of natural grassland, making it the largest alpine meadow area around Chongqing and one of the most popular summer and winter resorts in southwest China.
Located on the north bank of the Wujiang River, Fairy Mountain is about 30 kilometers from Wulong County town and approximately 200 kilometers from downtown Chongqing. The mountain gets its name from a peak that resembles a graceful dancing fairy.
