1. How do I work out the suitable schedule with China Exploration?
You can send us an E-mail, fax, or call us directly when you have any clear or rough plan of visiting Tibet, then we will suggest the schedule for you.
 
We will be greatly grateful if you can tell us the details of your plan as detailed as possible, such as the spots you want to visit, the program or way of transportation you are interested, the season of your arrival, the length of your holiday in Tibet and other part of China, the level of accommodation, and the possible number of your group.
 
2. What months in Tibet are considered as peak season, shoulder season and low season?
The Peak Season of Tibet is July, August, September and October, the Shoulder Season refers to April, May, June, and November; the Low Season could be January, February, March, and December.
 
In addition, different cities have different concept of the Peak Season according to their climate. In Jiuzhaigou and Shangri-la area the peak season are September and October.
 
3. What do I need for Tibet travel?
You will need a valid passport, a China visa in most of the area. If you will travel in Tibetan Autonomous Administration Region (Lhasa around), you need to apply a Tibet entry permit. Keep in mind, Tibet is a part of China, so when you come back the inner land of China from Tibet, your China visa is still valid. When you travel in Tibetan region in Sichuan, Yunnan, Qinghai and Gansu province, Tibet entry permit is not required because these areas are open.  
 
4. Shall I need to bring too much cash?
We don’t encourage you bring too much cash, but you need to bring certain cash. The international bank system in most of the Tibetan area does not complete, and cash is still the main way of trade. Your international credit card or travel check can work only in a few big cities of Tibet.
 
5. What is the electricity voltage and frequency in Tibet?
The standard electricity voltage in Tibet is 220V and 50Hz in frequency. 
 
6. Is it easy to find international telephone call service in Tibet? 
Only in the big cities as Lhasa, Shygatse, you can find the telecoms office providing international telephone service.  
 
7. Is it easy to find Internet service in Tibet? 
Most of the towns in Tibet have the internet service in the hotels or street.
 
8. What to expect from the tour?
This tour is for people who are interested in learning about Tibet and exploring that far off land. The spirit of adventures and good will are traveler's best friend. Politeness and courtesy always enhance the experience of a trip. Tibetan is very friendly.
 
9. What is kind of food we eat throughout the trip?
Meals mainly rely on local condition. In big cities as Lhasa with nice hotel, breakfasts are western style buffet; in small towns will be simple food they can provide in max. Lunches and dinners will be Chinese style food, even packed fast food according to the trip. Of course, we will also arrange a few Tibetan style foods as special favor.
 
10.What are the hotels in Tibet like?
Most of the area offer standard western style hotel although their services can not be international level. Deluxe 5 star hotels also exist in big cities as Lhasa, but in most of the towns their hotels are only meet basic need of travelers, in some area condition are even poor.
 
11. Shall we tip for the guides and drivers?
Certain tip can greatly encourage the service of the guides and drivers. We suggest that you can tip your guides and drivers reasonably according to the trip you make and their effort in their works.
