D1 Beijing Imperial Heritage & Great Wall Tour
Your guide will pick you up from your hotel between 7:00 am and 8:30 am, and begin your Beijing sightseeing journey.
Drive approximately 1 hour to the Ming Tombs, located about 50 miles (80 km) northwest of downtown Beijing.
The Ming Tombs are the best-preserved imperial tomb complex in China, with a history of more than 500 years. Thirteen emperors of the Ming Dynasty were buried here, surrounded by beautiful mountains and traditional Chinese feng shui landscapes.
During the visit, explore Changling Tomb, the largest and most impressive tomb of the Ming Tombs. It is the final resting place of Emperor Yongle, the third emperor of the Ming Dynasty who moved the capital to Beijing, and his empress Xu.
The visit to Changling takes approximately 1 hour.
After the Ming Tombs visit, continue to a traditional Jade Carving Factory before lunch.
Jade carving is one of China’s most famous traditional handicrafts, combining delicate carving techniques with rich cultural meanings. Here you can learn about the history of Chinese jade art and appreciate beautifully crafted jade works.
Enjoy a traditional Chinese lunch at a local restaurant.
After lunch, continue to the Badaling Great Wall, the most famous and one of the best-preserved sections of the Great Wall.
Built as an important defensive structure protecting ancient Beijing, Badaling offers magnificent mountain views and impressive historical architecture. You will spend approximately 2 hours hiking along the ancient wall, exploring watchtowers and enjoying the spectacular scenery.
For visitors who prefer a more comfortable experience, a cable car is available as an optional choice.
On the way back to your hotel, enjoy a traditional Chinese Tea Ceremony experience and learn about China’s long tea culture. You will also have the opportunity to experience Chinese calligraphy, a unique form of visual art with thousands of years of history and an important part of Chinese cultural heritage.
