The Great wall, symbolizing China’s ancient civilization, is one of the world’s most renowned projects. It is a distance of 75 kilometers northwest of Beijing. Its highest point at Badaling is some 800 meters above sea level. A well-known popular saying goes: ‘He who hasn’t been to Great Wall is not a true man’. Located in Yan Qing northwest of Beijing. It was built in the beginning of Ming Dynasty and was a special section of the Ming Great Wall. As an important Pass, Ba Da Ling Great Wall means getting to all the directions in English. The total length is 4500 meters. Many beacon towers, watch towers add more magnificence to the Great Wall.

D1 Arrive in Beijing: Temple of Heaven, Donglaishun & Evening Show
Upon arrival in Beijing, your guide will meet you at the airport and transfer you into the city. Begin your Beijing experience with a visit to the Temple of Heaven, one of the city’s most iconic imperial landmarks. This magnificent complex was where emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties performed important ceremonies and prayed for good harvests and peace.
After sightseeing, enjoy a taste of authentic Donglaishun-style instant-boiled mutton, a traditional Beijing specialty. Thinly sliced mutton is cooked in a simmering pot and served with traditional dipping sauces, offering an excellent introduction to Beijing’s culinary culture.
In the evening, enjoy one of Beijing’s traditional performing arts experiences. Depending on the arrangement, you can watch a spectacular Kung Fu performance, acrobatics, or Beijing Opera. These performances provide an entertaining introduction to some of China’s most distinctive traditional arts.
After the evening program, transfer to your hotel for an overnight stay in Beijing.
D2 Beijing Excursion: Tian’anmen Square, Forbidden City & Summer Palace
Your second day begins with a hotel pickup between 7:00 am and 8:30 am. Start your sightseeing at Tian’anmen Square, one of Beijing’s most recognizable landmarks and an important site in China’s modern history. The square is surrounded by significant historical and cultural landmarks and provides an interesting introduction to the development of modern Beijing.
From Tian’anmen Square, proceed to the Forbidden City, the largest and best-preserved ancient imperial palace complex in China. With a history spanning more than 500 years, the Forbidden City served as the imperial residence and political center of China during the Ming and Qing dynasties.
Explore the magnificent palaces and courtyards along the historic central north-south axis. The visit to the Forbidden City takes approximately 2 hours, giving you time to appreciate its grand architecture, imperial collections, and fascinating history.
In the afternoon, visit the Summer Palace, one of China’s finest imperial gardens and a masterpiece of traditional Chinese landscape design. Centered around Kunming Lake and Longevity Hill, the garden combines elegant imperial architecture with beautiful natural scenery. It is an excellent place to experience the distinctive aesthetics of traditional Chinese gardens.
After visiting the Summer Palace, drive back to your hotel and enjoy a relaxing evening in Beijing.
D3 Beijing: Mutianyu Great Wall & Ming Tombs
Your third day begins with a pickup from your hotel, followed by a drive to the Mutianyu Great Wall, one of the most scenic and best-preserved sections of the Great Wall near Beijing.
Located in Huairou District, approximately 75 km from central Beijing, Mutianyu is surrounded by dense forests and rolling hills whose colors change beautifully with the seasons. Historically, this section of the Great Wall served as an important northern defensive barrier protecting Beijing and the imperial tombs.
Spend time hiking along the ancient wall, exploring its historic watchtowers, and enjoying panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. For those who prefer a more convenient way to reach the higher sections, a cable car is available as an optional service.
After lunch, continue to the Ming Tombs, one of the best-preserved imperial burial complexes in China, dating back more than 500 years. Visit Dingling, the underground mausoleum of the Wanli Emperor of the Ming Dynasty.
Dingling is particularly famous for its Underground Palace, a series of stone chambers arranged as an underground complex. It was the first Ming imperial tomb to be excavated according to a planned archaeological program in China. Spend approximately 2 hours exploring the Ming Tombs and learning about the burial traditions and history of the Ming Dynasty.
Before leaving the area, enjoy a 45-minute visit to a jade carving factory. Chinese jade carving is a famous traditional handicraft that combines exquisite craftsmanship with rich elements of Chinese culture and symbolism. Learn more about the carving process and the cultural significance of jade in China.
Afterward, return toward downtown Beijing. On the way, make an exterior visit to the National Stadium, known as the “Bird’s Nest,” and the National Aquatics Center, known as the “Water Cube.” These two iconic venues were built for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and are among Beijing’s most recognizable modern landmarks.
After the visit, you will be transferred back to your hotel, concluding your 3-day Beijing tour.
