D1 Arrive in Beijing: Bird’s Nest & Water Cube
Upon arrival in Beijing, your guide will meet you at the airport. Begin your Beijing experience with an exterior visit to the Bird’s Nest and Water Cube, two iconic landmarks built for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
Take some time to admire their distinctive modern architecture and enjoy photo opportunities outside the Olympic venues. Afterward, drive to your hotel and check in. The remainder of the day is free for you to rest and recover from your journey.
D2 Beijing Excursion: Tian’anmen Square, Forbidden City, Hutong & Roast Duck
Your second day begins with a hotel pickup between 7:00 am and 8:30 am. Start your sightseeing at Tian’anmen Square, one of Beijing’s most iconic landmarks and an important site in China’s modern history. Surrounded by significant historical and cultural landmarks, the square offers an interesting introduction to the history of modern Beijing.
From Tian’anmen Square, proceed to the Forbidden City, the largest and best-preserved ancient imperial palace complex in China. With more than 500 years of history, it served as the imperial residence and political center of China during the Ming and Qing dynasties.
Explore the Forbidden City along its historic central north-south axis, passing through magnificent palaces, courtyards, and ceremonial halls. The visit takes approximately 2 hours.
In the afternoon, explore a traditional Beijing Hutong, one of the city’s historic neighborhood areas. Wander through the narrow lanes and traditional residential streets to discover a more intimate side of Beijing and learn about the city’s traditional way of life.
After the Hutong visit, enjoy one of Beijing’s most famous culinary specialties: Beijing Roast Duck at Quanjude Restaurant. Savor the crispy skin, tender meat, and traditional accompaniments that have made this dish famous around the world.
After dinner, drive back to your hotel for an overnight stay.
D3 Beijing: Badaling Great Wall, Summer Palace & Traditional Performance
Your third day begins with a pickup from your hotel, followed by a drive to the Badaling Great Wall, the most famous and one of the best-preserved sections of the Great Wall near Beijing.
Spend approximately 2 hours hiking along the Badaling Great Wall, exploring its historic watchtowers and enjoying panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. The highest point of the Badaling section is approximately 800 meters above sea level.
For those who prefer a more convenient way to reach the higher sections, a cable car is available as an optional service.
After visiting the Great Wall, continue to the Summer Palace, one of China’s finest imperial gardens and a masterpiece of traditional Chinese landscape design. Explore its beautiful lakeside scenery, historic buildings, and elegant gardens while learning about its role as a royal retreat.
In the evening, enjoy a traditional Chinese cultural performance featuring Beijing Opera, acrobatics, or Kung Fu, depending on the arrangement. Experience the distinctive costumes, music, movements, and traditional performing arts that have been passed down through generations.
After the performance, drive back to your hotel.
D4 Departure from Beijing: Temple of Heaven
After breakfast, your guide will pick you up from your hotel and take you to the Temple of Heaven, one of Beijing’s most important imperial landmarks.
The Temple of Heaven was where emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties performed important ceremonies and prayed for good harvests, favorable weather, and peace. Explore the impressive ancient architecture and surrounding grounds while learning about the religious traditions of imperial China.
After the visit, you will be transferred onward for your departure from Beijing and your journey back to your home country, concluding your 4-day Beijing tour.
