Day 1 Arrive in Kuqa
Fly to Kuqa in the morning . In the afternoon you will walk around in the old Town of Kuqa to stretch your legs after long flights, and also explore the unique Uyghur ethnic minorities culture. The Kuqa Mosque here is respected as the TOP 2 mosques in South Xinjiang area.
Day 2 Kuqa Desert Landscape Exploration
Since Kuqa is located in the north edge of Taklamakan desert, you will enjoy a lot of wonders of desert. Firstly you will visit the Kerzil Fresco in the morning, which was started from 3rd century as the earliest fresco in China, even 200 years earlier than the Mogao caves Fresco of Dunhuang . It is amazing to enjoy these vivid paintings on the wall almost 2000 years ago.
And in the afternoon you will make a mild hiking in the Kuqa Grand Canyon in the afternoon, where you will explore the wild Danxia desert and gorges of Tianshan Mountain in Xinjiang. Back to city in the late afternoon.
Day 3 Ancient Qiuci Culture Exploration
Kuqa was called Qiuchi Kingdom in ancient time 2000 years ago combined multi cultures of Chinese, Indian Buddhism, and Persia. In the morning you will visit the palace of Kuqa King , which is rebuilt according to the palace of Qiuci King. And if you are lucky enough, you can even take picture with the their last princess here. And then you will drop a tour in Kuqa Museum, which will show you the ancient history if Qiuci Kingdom as well as its former prosperity.
In the afternoon you will head to the ruin of Subasi Temple, which was built in the 7th century, and Monk Tang also have stayed here 1000 years ago on his pilgrimage to India. Back city in the late afternoon, And then you can explore local Wuqia Bazaar in the evening, where is a good place to search for local foods.
Day 4 Kuqa to Kashgar Overland Train Tour
We will arrange you to take day train to Kashgar in order to let you enjoy the wide view of Taklamakan desert. It is ordinary Green train about 8-10 hours’ riding, and you will also have unique experience of touch with local Chinese people. You can also pay extra money for the 1 hour’s flight to Kashgar if you don’t like train.
Arrive in Kashgar in the late afternoon, transfer to hotel. If you can explore the Kashgar city yourself.
Day 5 Kashgar City Tour
In the morning you will visit the big Bazaar in Kashgar, which is famous in Mid Asia. And then you will visit the beautiful Muslim style Garden, actually it is Fragrant Concubine Tomb. The prince in Kashgar was smelled fragrantly and was one of the beloved wives by the Chinese emperor.
And then you will visit the Aitigar Mosque, which is the TOP 1. in Xinjiang. And then you will free to hike around in the Kashgar Old town. Night in local hotel.
Day 6 Kashgar / Baisha Lake / Kashgar / Driving 178Km, 4 hrs
In the morning you will head for Baisha Lake, also named as White Sand Lake. It is located on the Pamirs plateau and under the foot of snow mountain. The diamond like lake water, white sand, stone mountain, make it the beautiful picture of nature. You will walk around the lake to enjoy its beauty. Back Kashgar in the afternoon. Free time then. You can continue to explore the Old town yourself. .
Day 7 Kashgar Departure
Head for the airport and then fly to other cities. End of the tours.
