D1 Arrive in Datong
Arrive in Datong by bullet train from Beijing or other destination. Transfer to hotel for rest. You can free to explore the old town of Datong.
D1 Datong City Tour
In the morning your tour guide in Datong will pick-up you at hotel and then head to the huge Yungang Buddhism Grottoes Reserve, which is one of the top 4 grottoes in China.
In the afternoon you will head to Hengyuan to visit Hanging Temple. It is amazing to enjoy the ancient temple built on the cliffs.
D2 Yingxian Tour
In the morning you will head to Yingxian city, where you will visit the ancient wooden tower of Leaning Buddha Tower with thousands of years' history.
In the afternoon you will continue to drive to Mt. Wutaishan.
D3 Mount Wutai Tour
All the day you will visit the famous Buddhism sacred place of Mount Wutaishan. Wutai Mountain has the longest and most prestigious history. Wutai Mountain is where the highly revered Manjusri, the Bodhisattva of wisdom, once lived and taught Buddhism. There you will find many imposing structures and a huge variety of well-preserved Buddhist art works including painted sculptures, frescoes, etc.

D1 Datong City Tour

And you are accompanied to visit Nanshan Temple which was first built in the Yuan Dynasty. Stone & clay sculptures in the temple are most characteristic and can be named as one of the masterpieces of Wutai Mountain.Explore the Buddhism temples and mountains in Wutaishan mountain all the day.
D4Wutaishan – Taiyuan
Leave Wutaishan and then drive to Taiyuan in about 2 hours' driving. In the afternoon you will visit ancient Jin memorial temple.
D5 Taiyuan – Pingyao
Today you will head to Pingyao, but you will stop a tour in Qiao's Grand Courtyard which was the richest family in China 200 years ago, and here you will explore the northern China style architecture in the thousands of houses. In the late afternoon you will continue to Pingyao old town. Night to explore the old town yourself.
D6 Pingyao Tour
All the day explore Pingyao ancient town, including ancient bank, old street, etc. Board the night train to Xi’an.
