Classic Kashgar Three Days Tour
Kashgar
Kashgar is an oasis city with approximately 350,000 residents in the western part of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China. Kashgar is the administrative centre ofKashgar Prefecture which has an area of 162,000 km² and a population of approximately 3.5 million.[2]The city covers an area of 15 km². The altitude averages 1,289.5 m/4,282 ft. above sea level. The city is located in the western extreme of China — within both the Tarim Basin and the Taklamakan Desert — where it experiences an extreme desert climate.

The Apakh Khoja Mazar is the holiest Muslim site in Xinjiang, China. It is located some 5 km north-east from the centre of Kashgar, in Haohan Village . The shrine is heavily patronized by sightseers. The mazar was initially built in ca. 1640 as the tomb of Muhammad Yūsuf, a Central Asian Naqshbandi Sufi master who had come to the Altishahr region (present-day southern Xinjiang) in the early 17th century, and possibly was also active in spreading Sufism in China proper. Later, Muhammad Yūsuf's more famous son and successor, Afāq Khoja, was buried there as well. All told, the beautiful tiled mausoleum contains the tombs of five generations of the Afāqi family, providing resting places for 72 of its members. The monument is also known as the Fragrant Concubine's tomb, as it is the burial place of one of Afaq Khoja's descendants, Iparhan, who is believed to be the legendary Fragrant Concubine.

A bazaar is a permanently enclosed marketplace or street where goods and services are exchanged or sold. The term originates from the Persian word bāzār, from Middle Persian wāzār, from Old Persian vāčar, from Proto-Indo-Iranian *wahā-čarana. The term bazaar is sometimes also used to refer to the "network of merchants, bankers and craftsmen" who work in that area. Although the current meaning of the word is believed to have originated in native Zoroastrian Persia, its use has spread and now has been accepted into the vernacular in countries around the world. In Balinese, the word pasar, means market

Depending on the season, you may also have the opportunity to taste some of the region’s famous sweet grapes and other fresh local fruits.

Continue your sightseeing around some of Kashgar’s historic mosques and traditional neighborhoods. Your guide will introduce you to the history and cultural significance of Islamic architecture in Kashgar while you explore the city at a relaxed pace.

In the late afternoon or evening, return to your hotel for a well-deserved rest.

D2. Apak Hoja Mazar, Id Kah Mosque & Kashgar Bazaar (B/L/D)

After breakfast, drive to Apak Hoja Mazar, also known as the Abakh Khoja Tomb or Fragrant Concubine Tomb, on the outskirts of Kashgar.

Covering an area of about two hectares, the mausoleum complex contains numerous tombs and is one of the most important Islamic historical sites in Kashgar. Admire its distinctive architecture, colorful glazed-tile decoration, and peaceful surroundings while learning about the history of the Hoja family and the development of Islam in the region.
