Huangguoshu Waterfall is the largest waterfall in Asia and one of the grandest waterfalls in the world.

Huangguoshu Falls is 74 meters (243 ft) high and 81 meters (266 ft) wide. The upstream Baishui River is flowing towards the bluff and falling into the Rhinoceros Pool at the foot. During the rainy season (May to October), the water rolls down to the Rhinoceros Pool like thousands of horses galloping and shakes the ground and the hill. The thunderous roars of the falls can be heard several kilometers away. The falls are at their most spectacular about four days after heavy rain in this season. The dry season starts from November till April. In the two months of March and April the flow of water can become a trickle.

Further adding to the allure of Huangguoshu Falls is the presence of other 18 cascades both above and below the main falls. Hangguoshu is also the only one provided with naturally perforated waterfall caves. There is a marvelous Water-Curtain Cave located in the back of the waterfall. It is 134 meters long down to the foot of the falls, allowing visitors to not only view, but also hear and touch the waterfall. Being in it, one can see the plunging water like numberless strings of pearls flying down over one's head and also the rainbows in the fine drizzle. It is really a spectacular view.

Day01 Arrival in Guiyang

In the morning, pick you up at your hotel in Guiyang and then take you to Jiaxiu Pavilion. It is built on a large stone with the Nanming River running passing by. And it is about 20 meters high with three floors.

After lunch, go to Qingyan ancient town, located in the south suburb of Guiyang City, Qingyan Old Town is one of the famous old towns in Guizhou. Built in 1378, the town follows the layout of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The ancient buildings are quite imposing. The carved columns and painted beams are incomparable and ingenious. Though some of them were out of repair, they still look attractive and strongly worth seeing.

Stay at the hotel of Guiyang.

Day02 Guiyang - Kaili (Miao Ethnic Minority Villages)

Drive to Kaili and check in at the hotel. The first stop will be Qingman Long-Skirt Miao Village. It is so named because the Miao people in the village wear long skirts. You will experience the Miao people's daily life by visiting the local families. Meanwhile, you can appreciate the Miao people's typical architecture - Wooden Stilt House(Diao Jiao Lou in Chinese). Afterwards, continue to visit the traditional way of paper-making in Shiqiao Miao Village and another Long-skirt Miao Village - Boji Miao Village. You will be deeply impressed by the different folk customs and dresses. Transfer back to Kaili.

Qingman Miao Village - Located about 14 miles to the southwest of Kaili, Qingman Miao Village is built along the mountain contours. Surrounded by green mountains and rivers, it is the sweet home to over 300 households and 1,600 Miao people. The unique wooden stilt houses put up range upon range are indeed a splendid scene to see!

The Wooden Stilt House - By making use of steep hillside, the local people use wood to build their houses, whose structure is jointed by tenon and mortise, without a single snail or rivet. The layers of these houses look very much like pyramid-shaped structure from afar, spectacular indeed!

Paper-making in Shiqiao Miao Village - Shiqiao paper is smooth, white, and difficult of bursting. It is said that the paper making in Shiqiao Miao Village has a history of over 1,000 years. By using Han people's experience, the local Miao people use high-quality spring water, tree roots and bark to make papers. Their craft of paper making is regarded as a “live fossil”. Come to Shiqiao, you'll have a chance to witness how they make papers.

Boji Miao Village - Shaped like a dustpan, Boji Miao Village is located in Danzhai County where the land is beautiful and fertile. Over 100 households live here generation after generation. The life in this old village is quite serene and bucolic.

Stay at the hotel of Kaili.

Day03 Kaili (Miao Ethnic Minority Villages)

Visit the local market in the morning. Afterwards, drive to visit the Jidao Miao Village and Langde Miao Village. Transfer back to Kaili.
