D1 Chengdu / Mt Mengdingshan Tea Picking / Shangli Old Town ( Lunch, Dinner )
 

Your Chengdu tour starts from Mt. Mengdingshan today, the guide from China Exploration will take you to Mt. Mengdingshan in about 2 hours’ driving on the express way, and you can enjoy the wide Sichuan plain en route.

According to the Canon of Tea, tea was firstly planted by Wulizheng in Mt Mengdingshan in 43 BC, and today 7 old tea trees are still living in the Royal Tea Garden. Because it is just on the way to Bifengxia, so China Exploration will bring you a tour of Mt. Mengdingshan and tea planting, where you can make a hiking in the mountain full of tea plants, and also learn how to picking tea and making tea with local peasants.
 

In the afternoon your guide will send you to Panda Breeding Research base in Bifengxia Wildlife park. In the Panda Garden you can see the lovely pandas making various funny movement in eating and playing, and here you will sign a contract of volunteer work with the Panda garden.

In the late afternoon you will head for Shangli old town in half an hour’s driving. Shangli Old Town used to be important station during the trade of horse and Tea with Tibetan, but expressway have driven it from the busy traffic, now it is much quiet in the countryside as a good place for leisure, just relax, drinking tea, painting the old stone bridge, wooden house, etc. Tonight you will stay in local guest house in the old town.


D2 Giant Panda Volunteer Works in Bifengxia Panda Base ( breakfast, Lunch , Dinner )
 

Returning the Panda Garden in the early morning, you will start the panda volunteer works with local staff. An experienced staff of Garden will guide you for today’s work, such as cleaning the rooms for panda, preparing food, feeding pandas, etc. The crew may teach you how to cook for panda, how to clean the room and garden, and how to give panda treatment when they are ill. What to do exactly today is up to the need of local panda garden. Serving for the pandas might be a dirty and boring work, but just think it is unique and honorable work for panda, could be done no where in the world!
 

In the late afternoon after the volunteer work finished, you will head for Ya’an city for night. You can free to walk around and search for local folklore. Night in a nice hotel today.

D3 Ya’an / Leshan Giant Buddha Tour / Chengdu
 

Enjoy the quiet morning of Ya’an today, and then you will head for the world famous ,Leshan Giant Buddha.  After 2 hours’ excursion of West Sichuan village on express way, you will arrive in ,Leshan city.

China Exploration always want to arrange the special food to our clients. So today you will have a delicious Xiba Bean Curd Banquet here. Bean curd is one of the most popular food in China, and the bean curd of Xiba is the most famous in Chengdu. All of the dishes will be made of famous Xiba bean curd.
 

After lunch, you will enjoy the wonder of ‘ Buddha is the hill and the hill is a Buddha ‘ at the other side of Minjiang river, and then making a hiking tour in the hill of, Leshan Giant Buddha. You will visit Linyun temple firstly, and then walk down the zigzagging trail in the left side of Buddha. The Buddha is a small mountain, from it is head to shoulder, and from leg to foot, about 30 minutes hiking. After it, you need to hike up from its right side again. It is also a good place to view ,Leshan city cross the joint of Minjiang River, Dadu River and Qingyi River. You will walk about 30 minutes to Wuyou temple, where you can enjoy the statue of 500 Arhats.

In the late afternoon you will return Chengdu. It is 2 hours’ driving again, just enough for a short time’s nap in the car. Yes, it is a bit tired after the hiking in Buddha. Arrive in Chengdu in the late afternoon and then drop off you at your hotel, and your tour of Chengdu finished today with sweet memory.
