Steam train used to be the most important transportation tool in the 18th century as well as the symbol of industry revolution, but it has almost disappeared in the 21st century, and people can see it only in movie or museum now. But you can hardly believe that the steam train is still working as the only transportation tool connecting the villages with the outside world in the deep mountain of Leshan. Jiayang steam train has been running for almost half a century in Qianwei city , a small city close to Chengdu. It was in 1958 that the Jiayang Coal Mine built the Ba-Shi (Bajiao Valley-Shixi) Railway - a total length of 19.84 kilometers. Thanks for God, it is still well reserved and our travelers have the fortune to experience the lost civilization now.

D1 Chengdu / Jiayang Steam Train Tour / Emeishan ( Lunch , Dinner )
Your Chengdu tour starts in the early morning in order to catch the Jiayang steam train of 10:30 am. China Exploration will drive you to Yaojin station of Qianwei county, about 2 hours’ driving from Chengdu, hope the wide Sichuan plain en route would not make your trip boring.
It will be a life-standing memory to take this old style train, just imagine, the old steaming train running slowly in the waving mountain, and making exiting whistle and heavy smoke occasionally. And local villagers carrying with bamboo basket and chickens may also squeezing with you in this train. Will you feel been drawing back to the 18th century? If so, that is correct, China exploration just want to bring you this experience. Of course, taking train is not all, you can also see some of old banner written in the cultural revolution in 1970’s, and enjoy the beautiful mountain en route. If you are lucky enough, you can catch the amazing season of Canola flower in March. The steaming train traveling in the yellow sea of cole flower make up the most beautiful picture for photographers and painters.
You will have a packed lunch due to local poor condition.
After the tour of train riding, you will head for Luocheng old town. Luocheng Old Street still remains in its original state of none tourism due to its out of beaten track of tourist. Although it is a very small street, it is impressive to watch local old people chatting and playing Chinese style bridge card in the tea house.
In the late afternoon, your guide will take you to Emeishan Mountain for night in one hour’s driving. You will stay one night at the foot of beautiful Mt. Emeishan. And the hot spring of Emeishan is famous here, so we’d like to suggest you buying yourself a hot spring bath as prize of today’s tour.
D2 Emeishan / Leshan Giant Buddha / Chengdu ( Breakfast, Lunch )
After a good sleeping, get up in the early morning, you will hike to Tiger Subduing Temple through the beautiful mountain trails in the valley. It is also called Fuhu temple at the foot of mountain. It is a beautiful temples of nuns, exquisite, ancient , and less tourist tracking.
After lunch, you will enjoy the wonder of ‘ Buddha is the hill and the hill is a Buddha ‘ at the other side of Minjiang river. And then we will walk up the Leshan Giant Buddha. We will visit Linyun temple firstly, And then we will walk down the zigzagging trail along the trail in the left side of Buddha. The Buddha is a small mountain, from it is head to shoulder, and from leg to foot, about 30 minutes hiking. And then you need to hike up from its right side again. It is also a good place to view Leshan city cross the joint of Minjiang River, Dadu River and Qingyi River. And then you will walk about 30 minutes to Wuyou temple, where you can enjoy the statue of 500 Arhats.
In the late afternoon you will return Chengdu. It is 2 hours’ driving again, just enough for you to have a short time’s nap in your car. Yes, it is a bit tired after the hiking in Buddha. Arrive in Chengdu in the late afternoon and then drop off you at your hotel, and your tour of Chengdu finished today with sweet memory.
