Leshan Giant Buddha is the largest Buddha statue in the world, and it is said that the Buddha is a hill, and the hill is a Buddha. Leshan Giant Buddha has long been enlisted as the world Culture Relics Heritage by UNESCO. About 120 kilometers’ express way from Chengdu, almost 2 hours driving, you can reach this wonder of the world. Your Chengdu tour starts in the early morning today, the guide from China Exploration will take you to Bifengxia in about 2 hours’ driving on the express way. You will enjoy the wide Sichuan plain en route.
In the wide Bifengxia Panda Garden you can see the lovely pandas making various funny movement when eating and playing, also it is a good chance to take picture for them. It is free! The most amazing is that you can even hold a panda in your arms for picture by donating some money to the panda base.
After a simple Chinese lunch in local restaurant, in the afternoon you will make 2 hours’ mild hiking tour in this beautiful park, enjoy the various scenes of waterfall, rocks, bridge, and it is also a chance to know more animals.
In the late afternoon China Exploration arranged an old town tour in Shangli for you, only about half an hour’s driving from Bifengxia. Shangli Old Town used to be important station during the trade of horse and Tea with Tibetan, and the change of expressway drove it off the hot traffic, now it only quietly remain in the countryside. It is a good place to relax us, drinking tea, painting the old stone bridge, wooden house, etc.
China Exploration always want to make the tour impressive to our client, so today you will stay in the guest house. in the old street, get away from the noise of city, and have a local favored food at dinner.
D2 Shangli / Leshan Giant Buddha / Chengdu ( Breakfast, Lunch )
It would be an exotic experience to feel the quietness of old town in the morning. After a simple Chinese breakfast, your guide will send you to the world famous Leshan Giant Buddha. After 2 hours’ enjoyment of West Sichuan village on express way, you will arrive in Leshan city.
After lunch, guide will show you the wonder of ‘ Buddha is the hill and the hill is a Buddha ‘ at the other side of Minjiang river. And then you will walk up the Leshan Giant Buddha. You will visit Linyun temple firstly, and then walk down the zigzagging trail in the left side of Buddha. The Buddha is a small mountain, from it is head to shoulder, and from leg to foot, about 30 minutes hiking. And then you need to hike up from its right side again. It is also a good place to view Leshan city cross the joint of Minjiang River, Dadu River and Qingyi River. And then you will walk about 30 minutes to Wuyou temple, where you can enjoy the statue of 500 Arhats.
In the late afternoon you will return Chengdu. It is 2 hours’ driving again, just enough for you to have a short time’s nap in your car. Yes, it is a bit tired after the hiking in Buddha. Arrive in Chengdu in the late afternoon and then send you back hotel, and your tour of Chengdu finished today with sweet memory.
